Holidays, Happy Days and for some, Unhappy Days
Depression hits a lot of us especially during the holidays. While we are happy that we have family and friends around, often we think of those who have passed and the many holidays we had with them. We must not let the fact that person is no longer alive, negate the fact that you have had them in your life and they have made very pleasant memories for you. It is very difficult especially when that person had died around the holidays but also if you lose a loved one right before the holiday. Get with friends and family, attend a church service where there are others who have gone through the same thing and never ever spend the day alone. That person who passed does not want you spending your time crying over them not being there but want you to enjoy the family and friends around you.
Holidays, Happy days
Holidays are the days where people are happy and enjoying the time with family and friends. People are shopping, spending money, laughing, singing and it is a very festive time for all. These days should be spent enjoying life and loving. We don't know how much time we have in this life, so we must enjoy the time we have. Everyone seem to be in a happy mood and want to give and see others be blessed. Often, we spend time doing for others this time of year more than any other time. We are selfless and caring and tend to forget things that were done in the past to cause pain and focus on what we can do to help someone else. All the beautiful decorations, the songs, the beautiful gift wrap remind us of how Christ came and gave himself for us. Even in his birth, people came from all over the world to witness him in his splendor.
Taking the time to show you care
We see that there are those who cannot afford to get the things they want for their children, that's the time to give of ourselves. We are not saying that buying toys is the meaning of Christmas but that helping someone who desires to do but can't is love and love happens when we are selfless. We want everyone to feel the love we have for our own children when we spend hundreds of dollars on them but showing someone else that you see the need and want to help means a lot. Giving just because you can and care to give is another thing that the holidays is filled with. Joy and peace abounds everywhere. People may never have the heart to give any other day in the year but during the holidays, they do. When one person touches the heart of another, this is soon passed on to another person and so on.
