Pumpkin paper plate crafts are the ideal craft project for the Fall and Halloween season. Kids love to create crafts using paper plates and adults do too. Get some great craft project ideas all with a pumpkin theme. The craft ideas on this page are all made using paper plates. You will need a few other supplies, but most of them can probably be found around your house, but if you do have to buy some of them ... it won't cost you an arm and a leg. So let's pumpkin paper plate on, shall we?

To make the beautiful pumpkin craft pictured at the top of the page you will need:

  • A Paper Plate With The Center Cut Out
  • A Construction Paper Stem
  • A Green Pipe Cleaner
  • A Silk Leaf or Two - Or Cut Leaves From Green Construction Paper
  • Orange Crayon or Marker
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Craft Glue
  • Yarn or Twine (If you want to make a hanger)

Cut the center out of a paper plate to make a wreath shape. Color the wreath orange. Cut a short, fat stem from a piece of brown construction paper and glue it to the top of your pumpkin wreath. Curl a pipe cleaner around a pencil to make it curly like a pumpkin vine, fold it in half and glue it to your pumpkin...or you can make a hole in your pumpkin wreath and slide the curled pipe cleaner through there so it hangs like a real pumpkin vine would. Lastly, glue a paper or silk leaf or two next to the stem to create this lovely pumpkin craft made with a simple paper plate and a few other materials.

If you want to hang your pumpkin wreath just tie the yarn or twine around the top, tie a knot and hang.

The Paper Plate Pumpkin Craft For Young Kids

Source

To make this pumpkin craft with your kids you are going to need the following supplies:

  • Several Different colors of Orange tissue paper cut up into squares & rectangles
  • Brown construction paper cut into triangles for eyes and a pumpkin mouth shape - look at the picture to see what I mean
  • Green construction paper cut into stem and leaf shapes
  • Elmer's glue
  • Large paper plates
  • Black marker

Put some Elmer's glue on the back of the paper plate and start gluing the orange tissue paper to it. Mix up the colors so they are glued in a random pattern on the plate. Fill the entire bottom of the plate with the glue and orange shapes. Then begin the process all over again and add another layer of the orange tissue shapes and glue.

When your child is happy with the look of his or her plate, let them glue the pumpkin's triangle eyes and nose in place. Then let the kid's glue the pumpkin's mouth into place. Finally help your children to finish up the project by gluing the leaves and stem into place on the tissue and paper plate pumpkin. If you like, you can poke a hole in the top of the plate behind the stem and thread some string through there so you can hang your toddler's pumpkin craft.

Pumpkin Paper Plate Kid’s Craft With Glitter

Glitter is the icing on the cake of this craft recipe. To make this pumpkin project at Halloween time with your kids you will need the following supplies:

  • Paper Plates
  • Orange Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Black Construction Paper - cut out triangle shapes for the pumpkin's eyes and nose and also a "mouth" shape
  • Scissors
  • Craft Glue
  • Green Construction Paper - cut leaves from this
  • Green Pipe Cleaners - or green ribbon or string to hang your paper plate pumpkin & it will also double as a stem
  • Orange Glitter - to make this fun kid's craft project shine and sparkle
  • Masking Tape

Begin the project by painting the paper plates orange. Let your painted plates dry completely.

Glue on the pumpkin's mouth, nose and eyes.

Use a clean paintbrush to brush some glue over the plate and the pumpkin's face. Sprinkle glitter on the wet glue. Wait a few minutes and hold your plate over a piece of paper and gently shake until the glitter stops falling. You can put the glitter on the paper back in your glitter container ... or you can glue your pumpkin with the paintbrush again and repeat the process. It depends on how sparkly you want your pumpkin to be.

Glue on your pumpkin's leaves to the top of your plate.

Bend your green pipe cleaner in half making it look like a loop. Glue the bottoms of the pipe cleaner to the back of your paper plate pumpkin - but make sure a lot of the pipe cleaner can be seen over the pumpkin. And also make sure there is enough "stem" to hang this homemade kid's craft pumpkin up with.
