I am a certified teacher and have been teaching for more than 30 years. I also write fiction and non-fiction stories.

Planning for Kid's Parties:

Kid’s party is one of the important things that often worry parents. There are many things to consider when planning for a party.

These are some of the questions raised when parents decide to have a party for their kid:

  • Where will the party be held?
  • What kinds of food will be served?
  • When will the party be held?
  • What type of party will be appropriate for the occasion?
  • What will be the activities?
  • How many guests will there be?

Now that you have all the questions raised; you can now start answering each question and see what can be done.

There are many choices for the venue of the party.

  • Home would be cheaper.
  • Restaurant could be more convenient. Everything will be taken care of by the restaurant.
  • Rent a place will also be nice.
  • Swimming pool will be more expensive but fun.
  • Beach will be nice and cool.
  • Garden Party will be fun too with lots of spaces for games.

Every kid’s party needs some activities so that the kids will enjoy and have fun. You can play games. Think of a game that all the kids will enjoy and make it a snappy game.

Here’s one example:

The “Bring Me” game is good because the children will love looking for things. The mechanics for the game is very simple and can be understood by even the very young kids. The purpose of the game is for the children to run around looking for something that the EMCEE has requested. The first one to be able to bring the thing requested will be the winner who will get the prize.

Here’s another

A dance contest can also perk up the kids. With prizes to win I’m sure the children will be motivated to join the fun. Statue dance is good. The children will dance to the tune of the music then stop dancing when the music stops. The children who move when the music stopped will be removed from the group. The last two who will not be removed will be the winners.

To make the children have more fun, you can also let all of them dance and choose two best dancers to receive prizes. But of course all the other kids must get also consolation prizes. Children are very young and they don’t understand it if some get rewards while others don’t and besides a party is an event where every kid should enjoy.

There are many more games fit for kids that you can do. The above are just a few.

You can choose from a variety of foods. Make sure that you choose what kids love to eat. After all, it is a kid's party so you have to choose foods that children love.

  • Finger foods
  • Cake
  • Sandwiches
  • Fried chicken
  • Hotdogs
  • Cup cakes
  • Ice Cream in cone
  • French Fries
  • Fruit salad
  • Chocolates

You will not have problems if you choose the restaurant since the restaurant will always give you choices to choose from which will make it more convenient for you. Another option is having the party catered which will make it more convenient for you.

Clown or Magician:

Children love clowns and magicians. They are the spice of the party and I’m sure the children love to see what they can do.

We always hire the clown if we have parties because clowns can also be magicians. Children love the clown with their big smiles and their funny gestures plus they can also make magic just like the magician.

When children see the clown you can observed that their faces change. The excitement can be seen in their beautiful faces and they are excited to go and hold the hands of the clown. Allow them first to enjoy some moments with the clown before letting the clown perform so as not to disappoint their excitement. Some kids could really be too excited and they have to have some moments with the clown.

The magician knows what he is doing being an expert host so this is also good for you because you don’t have to think of activities to prepare. The clown can take care of the games and other fun activities plus there is always a time for the clown to do some magic for the kids to enjoy.

Eating Time:

Eating time is important. It is sometimes better to serve the food on the table rather than letting them form a line to get their food. The kids will be calmer if they are led to sit on their chairs and just wait to be served their food.

Loot Bags

When choosing give away for children, choose something that they will really love such as crayons, coloring books, pencils, toys, cards, toys and others.

Let the children form two lines; one line for the girls and another line for the boys. They will enjoy this activity because they know that they will get something.

What a wonderful plan to have a successful kids party! I´m sure the kids would love to have the venue in Mc Donalds or Jolibees restaurant. With a small give away after the party, that would be a talk of the town for the kids. Thanks for sharing.
