Decoration Ideas - Bill's House and Fangtasia Themes

If you're throwing a True Blood Party, the first thing you're going to want to gather and put together are the True Blood Party Decorations. Amazon offers a massive amount of vampire décor, most if not all of which could be used at a True Blood Party. Check out their vampire lips balloons, Merlotte's Neon signs, full moon wall poster, Vampire Queen Lenticular Frame, and vampire bottle labels above.

At a True Blood Party, you'll want to set a dark, yet somewhat seductive ambiance if you're going for more of the vampire side of True Blood. In that case, you may want to think about capturing the look of either Bill's house or Fantasia Nightclub. If you're going for a more romantic, old-world vampire theme like Bill's house, place black candelbras with bleeding candles all around your house. Hang fake bats from the ceiling, replace your lightbulbs with red light bulbs, and play some low classical music on your sound system. Drape your furniture in black or red fabric to give the appearance of older antique furniture. Create a centerpiece on your table like the table shown below. Red and black roses would be perfect to display, as well as strewing their petals all around the house on different end tables and countertops, etc. Look at pictures of Bill's house for inspiration for your romantic True Blood Party theme and perfectly dark decorations.

If you're going for a Fangtasia True Blood Party theme, you'll want everything to be as red as possible. All red lighting, including red candles and red neon lights. If you can find a Fangtasia neon sign online, that would be perfect as a centerpiece or focal point. Red fabric to cover your chairs or stools would be a good idea to really bring together the Fangtasia red look. If you don't have red walls in your house, buy some red lining for your walls, it's cheap and can be bought online especially during Halloween season. Set up a bar area somewhere in your house, maybe on a long kitchen counter or island, or on an actual bar if you have one. Liquor bottles with vampire and true blood bottle labels should be set out on the bar, specifically bottles with red liquid. If you're really going all-out and this is a party for adults, rent or buy a cheap stripper pole for the middle of the room (we all know that Fangtasia has a couple poles for dancers around at all times). As for the music, you'll want to play rock or heavier techno music such as Industrial and Gothic Industrial to really pull the Fangtasia True Blood Party vibe altogether. Maybe even spray some fake blood here and there for an added vampire-and-victim effect.

The third option for a True Blood Party theme you have is to decorate your True Blood Party like Merlotte's Bar & Grill. The neon merlotte's sign on amazon (posted above) is the perfect decoration for this True Blood Party theme. You can also go right on HBO's true blood webpage and download and print out some pretty cool True Blood posters, such as the Bewere poster to the right. There are some Merlotte's Bar posters that you could use to post up around your house and bar area. Also go for a more country down-home bar look. Take a look at pictures of Merlotte's on the internet and re-watch some of your favorite seasons to get inspiration for your True Blood Merlotte's Party for this Halloween.

True Blood Party Supplies & Menu Ideas

There are a ton of party supplies on Amazon to be snatched up specifically for a True Blood themed Party for Halloween or season premieres. The actual Tru Blood beverage can be purchased on Amazon and also on HBO's shopping website. They are a bit expensive but probably worth to have for pictures and general ambiance. Check out the awesome set of True Blood bottle lights by Kurt Adler on Amazon for only $30. String these around the bar or top of a doorway.

Always have a season of True Blood playing on your TV in the background, this way people can hang out and watch some of True Blood, the best show on TV while they're partaking in the morbid True Blood party festivities.

As for tableware and food supplies, I would choose red and black for all of my True Blood party utensils, plates, cups, and napkins. As for servingware, try black platters for sale at party stores such as iParty, etc. These are usually pretty cheap as they are usually plastic (guaranteed not to break in a drunken moment). An even better idea to keep things clean and somewhat glamorous is to purchase a set of the Wine n' Dine Party plates, as shown to the right. Your True Blood Party guests can eat their bloody meat and drink their bloody wine and hold it all in one bloody hand!

Scout the internet for more party supplies and ideas. You can always pick up cheap party supplies in red and black from dollar stores or Walmarts in your area.

As for the menu, anything red goes. Red alcoholic beverages, red soda, red cakes and bleeding cupcakes, rare to medium rare steak if serving a smaller number of guests at your True Blood Party. Vampire bite cupcakes are a truly awesome addition to a True Blood Party menu. Also, if serving dinner, try making a hunter's souffle, like the bloody one that Maryann made for Tara and Eggs in Season 2. A punchbowl of red liquid will look like blood. Use your bloody imagination and go red wild!

True Blood Costume Ideas

What would a True Blood Party be like without people in True Blood costumes? Obviously the most popular are going to be Sookie, Bill, Eric, and Jessica. Sookie and Jessica costumes are easily done, and if you are going with the Merlotte's waitress look very simple to do. The only difference in the two would be bite marks on Sookie's neck and maybe fangs for Jessica.

Pam is another great True Blood costume to wear for a True Blood Halloween Party. Anything glamorous, powerful and pink is perfect for Pam. Check out my hub on how to dress like Pam for Halloween this year for more tips on a Pam True Blood Costume.

Bill and Eric costumes will be simple to do for the guys. Fangs always included, trendy suits for Eric and Bill or if going for a more casual Bill or Eric look - dickies and henley shirts. Bill wears cowboy boots sometimes and Eric wears work-boots.

Other costumes that could be done for a True Blood party include Alcide (werewolf in plaid), Jason Stackhouse, Hoyt Fortenberry, Arleen, Tara, Maryann, and the list goes on. Pick your favorite True Blood character and do your best to emulate their wardrobe and attitude and you will have an awesome True Blood party costume for a True Blood Party.

I love True Blood! I wonder if Tara really died in the season finale or if a vampire will show up and let her drink his blood. I guess we will see next season.

LABrashear - Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it and got some useful links and resources from it for your next True Blood party! I was Sookie last year, but I didn't have a Bill because my husband actually dressed as one of the cops from Reno 911. Thanks again!

Great job! I wanted to have a season premier party, but maybe we'll opt for a finale or Halloween. My husband and I were Sookie and Bill for Halloween last year and had so much fun with it. Thanks for all the great info and links.

Nspeel, I did a search on "hubpages elite" within the hubpages search field and applied. I believe they have to be accepting new candidates and the staff chooses who they want to be Elite, etc. Good Luck!
