Important Reasons Not To Celebrate Christmas
Is Santa Real???
Christmas is celebrated because it is believed to be the day Christ is born. But history tells us and even experts say that December 25 is NOT an accurate date of Christ’s birth. It is a FACT that Christmas is not Jesus’ nativity date but instead its origin is rooted in paganism. That’s right, what most “Christians” today are celebrating is a pagan tradition that is dedicated to the worship of the sun.
So if you really think that you are worshiping Jesus in this day, THINK AGAIN. History shows that Christmas is celebrated 4000 years before Jesus was born! READ THAT AGAIN! No matter what books you read, it will reveal that Christmas was a way to convert pagans into Christianity but in the process, pagans were not converted but instead Christians were converted to paganism! Sad to say, most people today do not question Christmas.
So what’s the big deal?
Yes, so what’s the big deal? Well, the truth is, it is a BIG deal! Let us consider what God said in the Scripture.
“Take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them (the pagans), after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods” I will also do likewise.’ You SHALL NOT WORSHIP the LORD your God in that way; for every ABOMINATION they have to done to their gods…” (Deut. 12:30-31).
God commanded us not to follow what the pagans do because they are abominable to God. He later adds, “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it”. God means serious business here! He does not like us to copy the ways of the pagans. We have higher calling, higher than celebrating a pagan tradition.
In the New Testament, our Lord and Savoir stated, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him MUST worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23-24).
It is clear that God wants us to worship Him in spirit and in TRUTH! Ask this question, is Christmas the truth? The OBVIOUS ANSWER IS NO! Christmas is full of lies and deceit which include satan claus, uh, I mean santa claus, the flying reindeers, the nativity scene, the date, exchanging gift, yule log, Christmas trees, and many others.
Instead of worshipping God in ways we want to, we should ask God how we should worship Him. When you worship God according to what is convenient to you, the prophecy of Isaiah will be fulfilled in you: “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men (which includes Christmas)” (Isaiah 29:13).
Is LOVE enough?
Most people will say that as long as we have “love”, celebrating Christmas is okay, or is it? Let us not blind ourselves with our own narrow and limited definition. Let God define what LOVE is.
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (I John 5:3).
It does not get any clearer than that! This is the God’s meaning of love that we should keep His commandments and if you read what was written earlier, you will know what God commanded us. He does not want us to commit fornication with other pagan religion.
