Quick Indoor Christmas Decoration Ideas

Updated on March 21, 2011

Decorating with indoor Christmas decoration is something many people enjoy during the holiday season. Most people begin their decorating after the Thanksgiving holiday, but some wait until the last minute for their personal holiday decor. If you are someone who does not have a lot of time to decorate, you need indoor Christmas decoration that only takes a few moments to put together. Use these tips and ideas to help you decorate for the Christmas holiday in a flash.

Christmas Garland

One of the easiest Christmas decorations to use is garland. Holiday garland traditionally comes in green with an artificial Christmas tree look. This type of garland can literally be used anywhere. Stringing it along your mantel, door frames, windows, or mirrors can quickly get your home into the holiday motif. In addition to the traditional garland, you can also get garlands of candy canes and other holiday themes. These garlands can be used alone or with the traditional green garland. Decorating with garland will only take a few moments out of your day, and it is very inexpensive.

Christmas Tree

If you are much too busy to even think about decorating a tree, but you have a family that would be devastated without one, then consider the new artificial trees. These trees are basically "pop-up" trees that you literally just remove from the box and they spring to shape. You may need to do a tiny bit of adjusting to get the look you want, but it should only take a moment or two. Most of these trees are pre-lit, so you do not have to worry about lights. You can take fifteen minutes and add a box of ornaments and wrap the tree with a wide wired ribbon to get the finished look. With a tree like this, you can reasonably have it complete in less than 30 minutes. The great thing is that an artificial tree will last you for years, so you can enjoy this convenience for years to come.

Christmas Table

An easy way to decorate your table for the holiday is to simply throw a holiday inspired table cloth and runner onto the top; table cloths in burgundy, red, green, or gold work well for the holiday season. You can get a runner to coordinate with your table cloth, making your table a holiday eye catcher. To finish, consider buying a ready-made centerpiece of holiday flowers or simply use a potted plant like a poinsettia. In about 5 minutes you can have your table holiday ready!

Christmas Village

If you want to add a special touch to your mantel or table but don't have a lot of time, consider using a small village. Small villages may cost a little more than some would like to spend, but there are easy to set up and perfect for the holiday decorations in your home. All you have to do is unpack the village and set it to your liking on the specified area of your choice. It is very simple, especially if you get a simple and small version.

Indoor Christmas decoration does not have to take hours to complete. You can get your home ready for the holidays in no time with these quick ideas and tips. Try to keep everything simple and remember that you will be taking it all down in just a month or so, so it does not have to be perfect!
