Happy Father's Day

Updated on June 14, 2017

A Day Special Day For Fathers

Father's Day is a special day for children to show their dad how much they love them and appreciate the all things he had done for them.

Some children do not have their fathers with them today because they had died fighting in the war, died in the Twin Towers on 9/11 or their parents were separated or divorced. But, they still celebrate Father's Day in remembrance of their dad.

Today there are many fathers who don't even know what it takes to be a father to their families. Today fewer and fewer fathers play a significant part in their child or children's upbringing, so, the mothers end up carrying the burden of being two parents at once.

A father has the responsibility to discipline their children and to train them in the right way they should live their life. He also has a special responsibility for the boys in the family, who need his formative influence to help establish their own identity as men.

Girls also need their father in their life because to them he is their hero, someone to look up to, to have her sit her on his lap and say to her, "how is daddy's little girl." And most of all, to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day.

Some good examples of fathers living in the home are the following sitcom family shows that some of you may remember watching on television as a parent, child or teenager: "Father Knows Best", "Leave It To Beaver", "Ozzie and Harriet", "All In The Family," Good Times," "The Jeffersons," Room 227" and "The Cosby Show."
