Looking For The Right Holiday Gift

Updated on November 18, 2009

Sometimes it can be hard to find the right gift for someone. It's always easier to send gift cards or money, but while they are enjoyable, they tend to lack originality and sentiment. Many convienence stores like Walgreens, Osco, and CVS offer gift packages that are perfect for last minute shopping, or for a generic yet fun gift. Many of these gift packages come with chocolates, mugs, coffee, spices, etc. These are rather convienent gifts for both the shopper and the person recieving the gifts. Many of them are very affordable, ranging from ten to twenty five dollars. If you are having trouble finding a good gift, these gift baskets just may be exactly what you are looking for. If you're still having trouble, here are a few more ideas:

Jones Holiday Pack: Each holiday season, Jones Soda releases their latest assortment of soda concoctions ranging from delicious to downright weird. These 4 packs can usually be found at Target or online at

Shining Stars: These adorable plush animals are fairly inexpensive and can be found at many toy stores and malls. Each animal comes with a code that lets the gift reciever name their own star on the star registry website. (this is soley intended for entertainment purposes as the registered names aren't officially recognized by NASA or astronomers worldwide, but it's fun all the same)

Borders/Barnes and Noble: Major book retailers such as these often have a wide selection of books and media sure to satisfy even the most fickle gift recipients. They also have many clearanced and discounted items for sale, which can make for a great last minute find. (Tip: The humor section often has a lot of novelty books and gifts, which can be quite popular in white elephant exchanges or for use as stocking stuffers)
