Luxury Valentine's Day Chocolates to Enjoy
Hotel Chocolat Captures Spirit of Valentine's
Hotel Chocolat has always risen to the challenge of reinventing its signature chocolates in a grand but fun manner that matches the occasion. Back in the 1990s, British chocolate was generally sugar heavy, very low on cocoa and no match for the Continent. Hotel Chocolat has changed all of that with an exquisite range bursting with flavour but affordable to the mainstream.
The Valentines’s Day Sleekster is a delicious set of 27 chocolates moulded in the traditional heart shape that cover all tastes in terms of dark, milk and white. Passion Fruit Truffles, Praline Hearts and Amaretto Almond Kisses are the standout flavours. There are so many variations within Hotel Chocolat’s cocktail of treats, such as champagne, fruit and even cocktail flavours in the Love Potion mix. The presentation and packaging is always well constructed but the mix of chocolates range from the playful to the professional with quality the foremost factor. The romantic side of the day is also catered for by the selection of more “man-like” chocolate structures such as the Slabs and the Cocoa Beer. Hotel Chocolat has certainly stepped up its game in the last decade and continue to excite with their selection.
Divine Chocolate's Delicious Hearts
Divine Chocolate is a Fairtrade Chocolate Company that is 44 per cent owned by cocoa farmers. The chocolates for Valentine’s are an array of smaller hearts in three separate dark, milk and white boxes, all individually wrapped in silver foil. The white chocolates come with pieces of strawberry crisp made out of real strawberries while the 70 per cent dark chocolate content is a great starter for the wider variations within the Divine range. There are also the Divine Chocolate bars that come in a number of flavours that will challenge taste buds in a good way. The dark chocolate with mango and coconut and the milk chocolate with toffee and sea salt seem particularly enticing for 14 February.
Rococo Raises the Bar for Valentine's Day
Rococo is the real artisan of the chocolate experience. Lovingly crafted with flavours as globally exotic as they come, Valentine’s Day can hold treats both small and large. Their new flavour of love contains a box of four specially created for February 14, including a Laurent Perrier Ganache and a Blackcurrant and Violet Heart in a dark chocolate shell. If you really want to go to town, the multiple Heart Boxes ranging from £20 to £100, each packaged in a heart-shaped box and tied with a red ribbon, are an absolute must for the sheer pleasure of truffles, ganaches, creams, and marzipans all in one sumptuous box. The hand-painted hearts are also worth a look for their ravishing red wow factor.
