Witch's Enchanted Halloween Glowing Lanterns DIY Craft Project
I love these magical looking enchanted glowing lanterns and they are going to look wonderfully bewitching when you decorate your home with them. First you will need the following supplies:
- Jars in a variety of sizes and shapes
- Purple spray paint (Krylon purple aerosol paint was used)
- A Black Paint marker (Uchida Deco-Color fine point paint marker was used)
Search and find jars of different sizes and shapes to create a unique display for your home. The biggest jar shown in the picture was a pickle jar, there's a mason jar, and there are some jam and jelly jars. If your jars have labels on them soak them in hot soapy water and scrub those labels off. You don't want the labels or glue interfering with the spray paint or visibility of your project.
Clean the jars - do a really good job with this step Spray paint the outside of the jars. You want them to be translucent so the light shines through them, so you will probably only need one coat. To test it let it dry and just put a tealight in and see how the light shines through...you be the judge. remove the candle to continue the craft.
Print a design out on black paper, cut it out, drop it into the jar. Trace the design with a fine tipped paint marker on the outside of the jar. Then remove the paper from the jar. You can use your own design or picture, you can have your children draw a design for you, or you can print out the designs offered by Adventure in a Box where I found the idea for this craft project. You will find the link below.
Add a tealight to the jar - it is important to use tea lights with plastic Not metal holders - metal holders get too hot and can break the glass. Remember those famous words? Safety First! Now stand back and take a look at the beautiful witchy and magical decorations you made for Halloween.

Do You Need A New Wand? Make It Yourself!
Who knew making a witch wand was so easy? And here, all these years, I've been buying them. I found this easy craft wand making tutorial at Inspiring Creations, and now you can too. You will need the following craft supplies to make your witch wand:
- 1 Yard each of 5-7 different Halloween or witch looking ribbons
- 1 Wooden dowel
- Black Paint
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Buy or cut your dowel to the size you want
Paint the dowel black
Curl some of your ribbon (Called korking see the video how to below)
Tie all your ribbons with one ribbon (lay the tying ribbon flat on the table, put all the other ribbons on it - lay them across it so the middle of them is on the flat ribbon - and tie the bottom ribbon in a knot so it all makes sort of a big bow. Do this 2 Times! Now hot glue your two bunches of ribbon to the dowel.
Don't let the kids use the hot glue gun...that stuff gets super hot and can really hurt if it touches them
Get the picture? Look below to see the korking video and the how to tie your bunch of ribbons information.
How To Make Korker Ribbons
Halloween Korker Hair Clips To Match Your Homemade Witch Wand
Today's witch is a fashionable, coordinated woman (or girl) and she has matching accessories. In this case, these are hair clips that match the homemade witch wand. It too has korker ribbon. To make these fancy clips you will need:
- 3 Coordinating types of ribbon korked to about the same size as the hair clips
- Wooden dowel (optional - you can use this to clip your hair clip to while you glue your ribbons on or while the glue dries. It is not absolutely necessary)
- Hair clips
- Hot glue
- 2 Plastic spiders
I am sure you can figure out how to make this hair clip once you've read the tutorial for the witch wand. You cork your ribbon, tie it together in two bunches and glue it onto your hair clips. Glue the plastic spiders on and you are ready to go out and dazzle the witching world with your fashion sense.
