Mankind's Holidays or God's Holy Days
Choose Mammon's Days or God's Holy Days
Welcome to my new Hub. In this exciting Hub we will be studying the works of mammon (mankind) and the works of God. Which days do you think we should be keeping now? The vast majority of Christians keep Sunday, Easter and Christmas. Only a very small minority of Christians and even Jews keep God's Sabbath and Holy Days mentioned in Leviticus 23:1-44. But isn't it okay to worship the sun or Ishtar the goddess of heaven, Easter, and keep Jesus' birthday on December 25? And isn't it okay for a person to select on which day they wish to worship God, Romans 14:5-12. What could possibly be wrong with them? After all the majority of humans keep them in one way or another. What could be wrong about them anyway, aren't they kept to the Lord?
What does the Bible say about the ways that seem right to a man (or mammon) over what God says we should be doing, Proverbs 14:12 - There is a way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof are the ways of death. Shouldn't our trust be in God, 'Blessed is the man that trust in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is",Jeremiah 17:7.
We can't serve two masters - "No servant can serve two masters: for he will hate one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon, Luke 16:13. Jesus Christ said he is the way and truth and life. We are to follow him, John 14:6.
However, the human heart is full of deceit and lust after things that are of the world and not always the things that come from God, Jeremiah 17:9 - The humans heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? We are cautioned not to love the ways of the world, 1 John 2:15-17- Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abideth forever.
These verses say that our Carnal human minds are basically evil and need a change towards the spiritual things of God, Romans 8:5-6 - For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
We need to be in the Spirit if we wish to survive into God's coming Kingdom, Romans 8:8 -11 And then those that are in the flesh cannot please God, but ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so that the Spirit dwells in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of God, he is none of his. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Christ from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.
So, how are we to overcome these things if they look so good and even feel good to the average person, and if we are doing them because they make us look so good to our friends and the world and we think these things please God? What should be our guide lines on these matters? Proverbs 3:5-6 says, we are to, 'Trust in the Lord with all thy heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all the ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy steps." Remember human reason says, "all the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes;but the Lord weigheth the spirits. Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established," Proverbs 16:2-3. When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him, Proverb 16:7.
So then why is the worship of a day to the Sun not pleasing to God? The first step to establishing truth is to prove all things and hold on to the good things and reject the bad things isn't it?1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 - Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearances of evil."The worship of the Sun would be idol worship forbidden in the First and second Commandments of God because this would make the sun representative of a false god and not to be worshipped, Exodus 20:3-6; John 8:44, John 16:11. Matthew 4:8-10 - Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto him, All these things I will give thee, if thou will fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
But some will argue, "that all the Commandments where done away at the Cross when Jesus died for us and we can do whatever we want now!" Is this really true? Check out what Jesus said about his Laws in Matthew 5:17-18 - 'Think not that I have come to destroy the Law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, not one jot or tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled." Heaven and earth are still here and so are God's Laws.
It is God's grace - or undeserved pardon of our sins, because Christ died for us, that we can now learn to keep God's Laws through the help that comes to us through God's Holy Spirit being restored to us in Pentecost 31 A.D., Roman 8:1-4, Acts 2:1-21, John 16:7-14. Now we are saved by Grace, Ephesians 2:5. What was taken away from humans was the "Tree of Life" in the Garden of Eden which was symbolic of the Law of Holy Spirit but is now bought back and restored to humans by Christ's sacrifice, Genesis 3:22-24,15; Matthew 28:18-20, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 7:22-23.
So now with the help of the Holy Spirit we should be more able to discern when something is either right or wrong. However, many still seem perplexed about which day we are to worship God on a weekly basis? Jesus said we should be able to discern whether something is right or wrong by the fruit born from whom it comes from, Matthew 7:15--20. In other words not everything that has an appearance of good is from God and we should avoid it if its fruits are not good. It is said, "The way to hell is paved with good intentions." Even so God is merciful but we will not have the blessings if we cling to things that are not good. We need to be careful how we build on the foundations of God's work and follow Jesus as the Chief corner stone. We want our works to abide in what God wants for us not the fruitless works of mammon or mankind that will be burnt up, 1 Corinthians 3:10-18.
Glorying in the works of mankind will get us nowhere with God Almighty, 1 Corinthians 3:19-23. Sunday worship will be burnt up and those that will not let go of it will perish with it, Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Peter 3:10-13 > Note: "But the day of the Lord", a day hotter than the sun, that will burn up all evil doers. Those that persist in keeping the day of the Sun unless they repent of it will be burnt up..
When we research Sunday worship we can see that this is not what God had in mind for us. God established the 7th Day Sabbath as a weekly reminder to rest from our own works and fellowship with God, Genesis 2:2-3. So why would some of mankind seek to establish another Day oppossed to what God had already given us. There is not to much information as to whether humans kept this Day before Noah's Flood. However, it is evident that God was not happy with the way humans conducted themselves before the "Flood". There relationships were not good and it is more than likely they did not rest on that Day, God choose for them to keep, Genesis 6:5-6. Their fruit was not good, verse 7. But Noah found Grace with God because he did have fellowship with God and kept the Law of the Spirit, Romans 8:2. The 7th Day Sabbath would have been considered a part of God's Laws, so Noah received Grace because he listened to God and kept it, Genesis 6:8. God accounts Noah as righteous because he walked with God, Genesis 6:9;7:1; Psalm 119:172.
Though it is not clear if the sun was worshipped before Noah's Flood it did not take to long after the Flood for humans to make a god out of the sun. We must remember that now Satan had become mankinds master and god. Satan would use objects created to sway attention unto himself. Satan in all respects would become the "sun god" and leader of deceived humans, Revelation 12:9. It wasn't to long after the flood that a man named Nimrod opposed God the Creator and built a Tower at Babel in an attempt to escape any further floods by God on humans. He became the first New World Order leader in his day to represent Satan's government on earth. Many historians have identfied Nimrod as the source of post flood false religions. Sun worship greatly influenced Chaldean, Assyrian, Greek, Roman and modern day cultures and was their chief object of worship. Unknowingly the sun worship of Nimrod known as the Chaldean Mysteries is still being preached by many today that claim the title of "Christian."
It was the Cushite Chaldeans who became polytheistic and worshipped the sun, moon, and the planets. Bil-Nipru, which many scholars believe to be Nimrod was elevated by man to the status of god and worshipped as the chief deity. This mystery Babylon religion has always been used by Satan to undermine the true worship of God by exhalting Satan as the "sun god" through vain imaginations, even Platonic and Gnostic ideas of so called knowledgeable men, Dueteronomy 4:15-19, Revelation 17:5 and Revelation 18:2-10.
Following the Chaldeans came the Assyrian Monarchy which can be closely identified exactly with that of the Chaldeans. The Assyrians conqueredthe House of Israel who had wandered of into pagan religions and sun worship. Then followed the pagan Babylonian sun worhippers, who destroyed Jerusalem and carried the House of Judah into captivity because they also worshipped false gods and sun worship and broke God's Sabbaths. It seems as if evil was made to prey on evil to the hurt of humankind. If only the Israeltes had obeyed God, how happy we would be today. But all these sad things happened to teach us the hard lessons of life that only happiness comes from obeying God. Listen to what wise Old King Solomon said that we must do; " Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God,and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of humankind. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil", Ecclesiastes 12:13-14.
Next the Babylonians were overthrown by the Medo Persians but the Babylonians were allowed to keep their gods and sun worship. That same old mystery religion begun with Nimrod was still around but now with different names but the same gods. Also in the time of Cyrus the Great of Persia some of the Jews (and Esau) in captivity at Babylon would be allowed to return to build the Temple at Jerusalem. Though this was inspired by God Almighty and a good thing done by Cyrus some of these Jews that returned to Jerusalem were from Esau's family and brought the Babylonian Talmud with them, which would be used to resist Jesus Christ's ministry during the time of the Roman occupation of Judea. This happened after the Greeks conquered the Medo Persians and the Romans conquered the Greeks. Along with each new government came the worship of the sun god.
When The Roman Empire ruled Judea and Jerusalem they set up their own puppet king, Herod, who was related to the Romans through their grandfather Esau. He was Jacob's brother through their father Isaac. So Herod was related to the Jews and Esau and the Romans. He also appointed the Scribes and the Pharisees as religious leader to control Judah. These Phariseeical Jews had a twisted version of the Talmud, called Babylonian Talmaidic Phariseeiclism or Noahide Laws, that would cause the Jews to have Jesus Christ murdered. These very same Noahide Laws will be used to murder Christians today during the Great Tribulation, Revelation 20:4.
The Romans at this time were sun worshippers and this would lead to the worship of Mithra the sun god in 135 A.D. under Emperor Hadrian who banished all Jews and 7th Day Christians from Rome. Years later when Emperor Constantine ruled he took the title Pontifus Maximus. In his reign, Christianity was blended with pagan sun worship. This is when Sunday became a day of worship for those that lived in Rome. It was never ordained by God but by a pagan Sun worshipping Emperors of Rome. It can hardly be called a "Christian Day" but Satan once more was able to deceive humans to follow another one of his counterfeits. This is where Sunday got its start in Rome as a new day of worship for the Romans. Later it would be spread around the world because of the Protestant Reformation and the beginning of new Sunday keeping Churches calling themselves "Christian". This "Day" was given to us from the Roman Catholic Church as their special gift to a different Church with a different Gospel message of Replacement Theology and different Holidays.
We must be careful which Church and Day we choose if we want blessings or curses. Remember what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 3:10-17? Our foundation must be in Jesus Christ and not the teachings of men, Matthew 15:7-9. Jesus Christ is the way and the truth and he established the spiritual truths of God, John 14:6-7. These truths include God's Holy Days and Feast Days. Yes, I know there seems to be a lot more Christians in First Day Sunday Christian churches doing a great job of spreading the Gospel message but it is not quite the same Gospel shown through God's plan of salvation because there is a lot of important facts missing. They also will be rewarded according to their individual works and faith in Jesus Christ, it may well cost them their physical lives but Christ will test each of us individually to see how much we really trust in his name, Revelation 7:9. Some will receive more lumps than others for being stubborn about changing to the right "Days".
However, when Jesus Christ returns he will do away with Sun worship and restore his 7th Day Sabbath in the Millenium. The 7th Day Sabbath is the symbol of the Millenium when the 7th Day Sabbath is to be kept forever. All nations will rest in God's Sabbath Day and Holy Days then, Isaiah 66:15-23, Hebrews 4:1-9; and keep God's Holy Days, Leviticus 23: 2-3; Zechariah 14:16-21.
Along with Sunday worship some Christians keep Easter. This is another one of those "days" that humans brought with them from the Old Babylonian religion started after the Flood in Noah's Day. This has to do with the worship of a pagan goddess called Ishtar who has many alias names given her since she was first introduced as the "Queen of the Universe," and was very important to the Cushite Chaldeans. She is supposed to represent Beltis the wife of Bel-Nimrod and mother of his son Nin. This is where the the original "Mother and Child" began. Satan has many counterfeits to lead unwary people astray. As people began to migrate from the area around the previous Flood, these heathen practices moved with them and adopted various pagan names for the worship of the heavens and became a basis for Classical Mythology. Of course this is part of Satan's plan to undermine the true worship of God.
Images played an important role in the worship of the Babylonians and many future religions even into our time. The image was not seen as an actual god but as a representative of the god or goddess. Also images were used to represent the gods. The Chaldeans and others even today us a circle or cross within a circle to represent the sun god. A six or eight rayed star or, a naked female form, indicated the sungoddess. A fish was the representative of Ninnus or Nin. Many of these images and symbols are used in what are suppossed to be Christian churches today.
The Assyrians and Medo-Perdsians and Babylonians all had their gods and goddesses which have come up to us via the Greeks and Romans and into many religions all over the world. Many of these practices were incorporated and became "Christian" from the practices of Sun Worship or Sol Invictus/ Mithra. These are the very same teaching that came into Christianity as the mystery of Mithra the sun god and Cybele the "mother of god". This is generally a man's religion and its priest are called "fathers" or "brothers".
The worship of Cybele was a women's religion and the priestesses were known as "mothers". The worship of the goddesses can be traced back to the Egyptians, Assyrians, Medo-Persians and the Babylonians. She had many names such as Beltis, Ishtar, Isis or Hathor, Astarte, Ashtaroth and Dianna of the Ephesians and many other names which can be found in the New Age religions today. This "mother goddess" reached the Romans as "Idia Mater" or the Great Mother. Today she is referred to as the "mother of god" in Maryology.
There is an important connection to Easter which has to do with the solar celebration of the vernal equinox, which includes lent and Easter, named for the goddess "Astarte"- mother of god and is to be in memory of the death of the Chaldean Tammuz, whose counterpart is Mithra, who is the counterfeit representation of Jesus Christ and his relationship with our Holy Spirit - Mother, Ruach HaKadosh and God the Father, 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, John 3:3-8, 16-17. Man's (mammon) religion inspired by Satan tried to replace Jesus sacrifice at the Passover with this pagan "Day", during the controversal council of Nicea in 321 A.D. under the pagan emperor Constantine the Great, the worshipper of Mithra, as Pontifus Maximus the high priest of Sol Invictus, the sun god.
Check out our link to:Too Long In The Sun, by Richard Rives, he gives a very good summary of how Satan tries to deceive people today using this very same incident year after year. He has been very successful but Jesus will put an end to this worship of Mithra the sun god and Cybele the mother of heaven, when he returns, Revelation 17:5; 18:1-24; 20:10.
Along with the sun god Nimrod (Mithra) and Cybele the "mother of god", comes that specific feast "Day" of the sun Christmas. This very Day is when the sun is closes to the earth and shortest day of the year in the winter soltice. It pictures the birth of the sun god Ninus as the reincarnation of Nimrod. But God has never allowed the blending with pagan holidays. Sun worship is based on things created by God. It had different names such as Saturnalia December 17-24 and Brumalia December 25 as the birth of the new sun when the new sun began to rise higher in the sky.
This is also the origin of mother and child. It was accepted as the birth of Mithra in Rome by Constantine the Great in 320 A.D. and by the end of the fourth century the new "Christian Church was keeping this "day". It was kept annually to Mithra the sun god (natalis soltis invicti), Satan's substitute for Jesus Christ now with Christ's name, 2 Corinthians 11:4. They even put Christ's name on it and call it Christ-mas. So we see how the sun is given so much recognition as both the day of the sun to be kept weekly and the birth of the Sun on Christmas or Saturnalia to be kept annually as a feast day. These two "Days" are kept to the sun god Satan who masquarades as a angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, who's end will be according to his works along with his ministers, Revelation 20:10,15.
It is time to re-examine ourselves to see if we are in the truths of God? We need to ask ourselves are we truly following Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit or are we still locked into the way that seems right to each of us, according to what mammon says. Everyone of us still must wrestle with our human nature and struggle to make the right choices and choose good or evil, right or wrong and the way that Jesus Christ would choose on any given trial of overcoming the flesh. It sometimes feels like we are on a giant ego trip when we are tested daily even by simple temptations.
How many times has the same trial been stuck in front of you and yet you messed it up completely again. This sounds like much of what the apostle Paul went through over and over again in service to God and Christ, Romans 7:14-20: "For we know that the Law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would that I do not; but what I hate that I do. if then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the Law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present wth me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that what I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me."
Maybe repetion is a good school master and maybe this is why the Holy Spirit lets us continue to struggle with some sin that is just hard to overcome. Just the same we do continue ever trying because to quit is not the Christian way. Besides we have Jesus Christ who comes along besides us to help us to keep trying, Romans 8:27. If we let Jesus and the Holy Spirit continue to help us then we are letting God's spiritual laws help us to have patience and faith to overcome a certain trial and we delight in the law of God as we fulfil the spiritual intent of that law to overcome that evil choice. Now we delight in the law after the inward man and give thanks to God because of Jesus that we are now serving the Law of God.
Now if we practice something long enough that we finally learn to enjoy it more and more this is a wonderful accomplishment. This is the way we should feel towards God's Holy Days and Feast Days. If you keep doing them year after year they get to be the normal and right things to do. After so many years of practicing all those other "days" and feast of mammon We can finally see how false worship of Sunday, Easter and Christmas are when compared to the blessings of keeping "Days" that God would like us to keep. Every weekly Sabbath an every annual Holy Day becomes more and more a work of the Spirit. What a joy in Christ Jesus that we can serve these Laws of God and put down the old ways of sin. It is not easy to do in a world that loves the wrong choices of evil. Some who see what we do think we are Jewish or completely insane to be keeping those Old Holy Days of God mentioned in Leviticus 23.
Listen to what the apostle Paul says about what people say and judge us about when we keep these Days of God, Colossians 2:16- Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or drink, or in respect of an holy day, or a new moon, or of the Sabbath Days: which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ. Once again we have victory in Christ when we do the things that please God! We do them because Jesus did them and we still follow him today! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday , today , and forever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines (of mammon - Sunday, Easter and Christmas). For it is a good thing that the heart be established with Grace: not with meats, which have not profited them that have occupied therein, Hebrews 13:8-9. The profit is that we are overcoming the fleshly desires to do what the world does as it runs after its master Satan the Devil. God can make us perfect when we follow Jesus Christ and glory in Him through God's Sabbaths and Holy Days, Hebrews 13:20-21.
There is one more thing to consider when you decide to keep or not keep God's Holy Days? For you that believe in a Pre-Rapture do you really think that if you were to go to heaven during the Great Tribulation that you will keep Sunday, Easter and Christmas up in heaven? Do you really think God Almighty would put up with such evil days? Think about it? Why would God take care of you if you are doing things that would provoke Him to anger. Of course you would not. Plus we have already shown in these Hubs that the Pre-Rapture is an hoax and ambush against Christians who take teachings from men (mammon) following a false flag from Satan.
Now, those Christians that do keep God's Holy Days have a better chance of going to a place of safety here on the earth as Jesus Christ promises to his little flock, Revelation 3:10. Also you need the Holy Spirit to lead you to that place and keep you safe from harms way for 3 1/2 years, Revelation 12:6,14-16. Consider these things pray and fast and put your faith in the real Jesus Christ who has given us Feast Days that can make us alive through God's plan of salvation that is found in God's Word, Leviticus 23:1-44. Forever is a long, long time, Leviticus 23:41, Zechariah 14:16-20! Don't be fooled by a false pre-rapture. It is just an ambush by the NWO for you. Trust God and his "Ways". Keep the Feasts of God, Zechariah14:18-20!
