You are the candle
in my hollowed out heart,
burning bright through
my hand carved face of despair.
You set the gleam in my eyes
and then snuffed my soul
with the cold blow
of rejection.
But the flame burns on,
sparks of passion
re-ignited it.
If I can't have you,
then I will haunt you.
I will lie next to you
in the wee hours and
rumple your forehead
with worrisome fears.
I will shadow your
lovers to come
with cold chills at the
touch of your lips.
I will possess them
when they possess you
and split the night
with a bit of my spirit
impaled deeply
in your flesh.
I will drive you
to join me
on the darkest side
where you will
desire the comfort
of one who knows
death's realm.
I am standing
behind you now
as you read these word.
Remember me??
Most likely not,
you set aside old love
like tight shoes,
and dance barefoot through
new pastures of love.
I will dismember you
bit by bit,
setting a candle
in your heart
carving a face of woe
on it's plump
still quivering mass,
and we will be
together in spirit
in more ways then
those cliche'
