Plenty of Pajamas!

Pajamas for Christmas - Not Just for Grandma Anymore!

Once upon a time, not that long ago, it was not such a good idea to give pajamas as a gift to a younger friend or family member. Generally, you could buy pjs for your Grandma or she could buy them for you, but beyond that, it just did not happen too much. However, now pajamas are the perfect gift for anyone!

Recently, it has become a big fad to wear pajamas out in public. Don't get me wrong - I disapprove of this look, but it seems like a fashion statement gone wrong that just won't stop. Furthermore, I am guessing these cold and unforgiving winters have forced many people to find new ways to stay warm. After all, plenty of us are trying to use as little electric or oil to heat our homes as possible since money is low, too. These factors have made pajamas, especially thick, warm pjs, one of the best gifts out there. Even footie pajamas for adults have become all the rage!

Footie Pajamas

When you hear the words "footie pajamas" you probably picture a 5 year old wearing them. Well, that is simply not the case anymore. Even if you are a grown man or a grown woman, you can wear some footie pajamas. Most footie pajamas are very thick and really warm. If you are always cold every winter, this is perfect. If you have loved ones that are always freezing, this is the perfect Christmas gift for them.

I just went to Walmart and I was surrounded by footie pajamas in the sleepwear section. My favorite footie pajamas were the fluffy pjs with Tweety Bird printed all over them. They are cute and practical. (Hint, hint... if anyone I know is reading this, I believe a medium would work for me!) You might think a person would look ridiculous in these pajamas. For all I know, yeah, that is probably true. However, they are very warm. The forecasters are predicting a very cold winter this year. I am sure anyone would appreciate being warmer this year. Don't be too quick to judge the footie pajamas. You might just find a pair under your tree. No one has to know what you look like wearing them at night!

Two Piece Pajama Sets

Let's face it, not everyone is going to wear a pair of footie pajamas. Some people are just not comfortable in any type of one piece outfit. If you have a friend or family member that is not stepping into anything with the word "footie" included in the name, there are many two piece fleece and flannel pajama options.

Victoria's Secret always offers a nice assortment of patterned two piece pjs for the holiday season. Some are even very modest! I happen to have a really nice pair of blue pajamas with unicorns on them that were a Christmas gift one year. They are extremely warm and very comfortable. Aside from Victoria's Secret, you can buy thick, cuddly two piece pajama sets from just about any store this time of year. Places like Walmart, Target, Kmart, JC Penney, Sears, Macy's, and many more are full of pajamas during the holiday shopping season.

Forever Lazy - The New Snuggie

As if the Snuggie weren't warm enough, now there is a new product in town that is bound to be a hit (even if only for novelty reasons) this Christmas. Essentially, Forever Lazy is a Snuggie that has somehow morphed into pajamas. Forever Lazy is calling itself "lazy wear" and boy is it! It is similar to footie pajamas since it is a one piece; however, the socks are not sewn into it. They come separately with your order.

If you are sitting around wrapped up in a Snuggie, but would rather walk around your house wearing your Snuggie, then the Forever Lazy is for you! For some reason, the commercial even insists you can wear this out in public. Since I am sure there are some of you that are skeptical this product actually exists, I am included the commercial below. Perhaps you might even want to order a Forever Lazy for yourself. Personally, I am going to pass on this one, but I can see how this would appeal to some folks.

Christmas Pajamas

Never forget that sometimes people like to receive Christmas pajamas on Christmas Day. Every year, a number of Christmas themed pajamas are available at stores. You can buy loved ones anything from pink pajamas with candy canes printed on them to pajamas with reindeer patterns. What a fun novelty Christmas item to give someone. Secretly, I wear my Christmas pajamas the entire winter. They happen to be very warm and since I live alone, no one is around to judge me.

Whether you are buying Christmas pajamas as a Christmas gift or simply buying a pair of footie pajamas for yourself, it is a great idea to go shopping in November and December for the best selection of pajamas. They are warm, fun, and make a thoughtful gift. So the next time you are puzzling over the perfect gift to give that special someone, make sure to consider pajamas as a Christmas gift.

Even better, I've seen cute pajamas with a cupcake pattern on them. I started to buy them for my friend for Christmas, but she insisted they would be too warm. Thanks for the comment!

You've convinced me! Cute pajamas are in, just like cupcakes.
