Peace and Joy to You and Yours!

Updated on December 24, 2012

Have Joy with Christmas Treats

Have peace with wishes

With stocking stuffer s

And big fat Turkey too

Sweet furry teddy bears

And all the love

Of many tomorrows

Please dont be blue!

When I was five my family gathered for a reunion at the beach in Emerald Isle, N.C, although that was years ago and there has been so much more growth since then, when it was time to go I was so sad. I loved the beach and I did not want to leave. I have not changed; I still feel the same way.

No one seemed to realize how sad I was, my misery at not being able to stay at the ocean. I felt so happy there.

I discovered that someone did care. Leaving in the car, Aunt Joan stopped us before we pulled away from the parking lot. She handed me a small bag and smiled, “Here Missy, this is for you!”

Everyone looked at me and I was smiling.

Inside was a bag full of treats. Beautiful shells, shiny rocks and lots of memories to take home with me.

Aunt Joan was a wonderful aunt; she really cared and was full of love. She was willing to go out of her way to make someone else happy. A sad little girl that loved the beach! I realized, as I gazed at the shells throughout my childhood, those were the essentials of gift giving.

My Prayer: ‘Lord, that’s the kind of gift I want for my friends, Father, a gift that will stay with them forever!’

Let some laughter into your heart!

Think of someone you know who needs cheering up and ask God for the right time to ease their heart with love and an act of kindness.

“He who has a merry heart has a continual feast.

Proverbs 15:15

Although Aunt Joan is gone to heaven now, I still remember that beautiful heart and loving nature she had for all who came into her path. Young and old, or rich or poor she loved us all.

Christmas was so much fun around her. Now I am her age when she died, and Christmas is different. So many loved ones have gone on to be with the Lord, now it is my job to try and help and love all that I can. Aunt Joan and my precious Mom taught me that, the Love of Jesus that is so precious, they told me and showed me, now I pray I can show the same love.

Its Christmas everywhere

It’s almost Christmas Eve

In another hour it will be

That magical day and night

Of Jesus birth

New day and dawn

That hope brings

In our hearts

When it’s hard to say

When it’s hard to pray

‘I love you’

Is simply enough

God Bless you all

Merry Christmas

Have a good night!

Just beautiful Debbie, and sorry I didn't get here by Christmas and hope you had a very nice one. Christmas is the time for these beautiful memories. They seem sad maybe to some but they are full of love and what we finally come to realize, life is all about.

“He who has a merry heart has a continual feast." So true! And therefor we should never steal other's merriness. I think doing this not-stealing business is a full-time job and the best of gift we can give to each other.

Beautiful, Deborah, and to be pondered.

I hope you are enjoying this Christmas season. May 2013 meets all your expectations :)

Imagine such a small gesture can make such a huge impression on a little girl - and on the woman she becomes! One never knows when, where, or how they might make an impact - positive OR negative...

Let's try to make them all as positive as possible!

One little, teeny weeny thingie, my dear friend - i'm pretty sure Aunt Joan didn't give you a bag of 'TEATS'...(see, i DO read - now go put the rrrrrrr...in treats!)

ps..my back STILL hurts from carrying laurinzos damn christmas tree! lool..

My parents are gone, but they taught me the most important thing about Christmas was the gift God gave us. The birth of Jesus. I will never stop loving them, but the greatest gift of all, well was what they taught me about Jesus and God.

      Thank you for this.

      God bless you Debbie.

      Voted up.

I recently have been thinking of Holidays with loved ones long gone... and the joy they brought to us... now it is our turn, to be the ones who help those who need to be helped, to bring a little joy into as many lives as we can. Thanks for the beautiful reminder.

Merry Christ mass Debbie....I know I posted a hub about hell but it's my "gift" as you know it's motivational and it sure makes me feel good to know ...but I thank you for your unfailing support, I truly do feel better and it's kindness of people like you- that are showing the true spirit of Christ
