Personalized Birthday Presents By Age "Number"

Updated on April 22, 2013

An easy way you can create personalized birthday presents that are totally unique and original is to base your gift around the number of the birthday age being celebrated.

On this page you'll find ideas for age "number" based gifts.

If you are limited for time, you can choose from a wide range of presents already available for every age.

Otherwise, you can create something completely personalized for the birthday "boy" or "girl".

Lots of Surprise Boxes

A wonderful idea for any birthday is to collect or purchase gift boxes - one for each year of the person's life. (For example, for someone turning twenty five, you would collect twenty five boxes.)

These gift boxes can be the same size or varying sizes.

Fill each box with a single present - whatever you like!

Just a few ideas for items to include might be:

  • jewelry
  • candy
  • cash
  • lottery tickets
  • perfume or cologne
  • personal care items
  • car accessories
  • novelty gifts
  • puzzles and games
  • books, cds, dvds or video games
  • tickets ... to a movie, event or perhaps travel
  • gift cards or vouchers ... for favorite stores, maybe, or for music

If you're feeling super-creative, you could even make each gift represent one year of life ... something symbolizing age one, then two and so on!

One way to present the boxes is to get the person to open them from smallest to largest, or vice versa. Make sure the best gift is in the last box to be opened.

You can decorate or wrap the gift boxes in any way you like.

"Ageing" Your Gift

Pretty much any gift or gifts can become personalized birthday presents by simply adding the birthday age to them.

You can have gifts customized by engraving or printing, or purchasing something already made.

Some examples might be keyrings, photo frames or mugs. Just add the age, or maybe a message saying, "Happy Birthday *insert age here* year old!"

It's simple, but thoughtful. It means that the gift has been chosen especially for the recipient, and it will become a memento of that particular birthday occasion.

Just For Fun ... Gifts That Really ARE Numbers!

This might take some brainstorming to come up with an idea, but it's a bit of fun, especially if you get everyone coming to a birthday party to do it. It's interesting and amusing to see what people come up with, and working out how the gifts relate to the number.

What am I talking about?

I'm saying that you really do feature the age number as a gift.

For example, let's imagine that the birthday is for a thirty two year old ...

You could give cookies in the shape of '32' or threes and twos.

If, by chance, the person happens to live at number 32, you could give house numbers from a hardware store.

Other ideas for personalized birthday presents for this theme could be a 32 inch television, personalized plates including the number 32, or maybe a gift card for $32.

Just some of the brands which feature numbers are:

  • WD-40
  • Glen-20
  • Baskin Robbins (31 flavors)
  • 20th Century Fox
  • VO5
  • 3M
  • Heinz (57 varieties)
  • KFC (11 secret herbs and spices)

Can you think of any more? Please feel free to share your ideas by leaving a comment below.

You can always put together two products to create a gift - e.g. 3 and 2 for our 32 year old.

Model numbers are another good source of numbers on items.

You'll be surprised what you find once you start to look!

Basing personalized birthday presents on a person's age is fun and memorable, and doesn't have to be expensive. I hope this page has got you thinking of some good ideas for your birthday gift occasion.
