I love to share my experience with others concerning an idea.

Valentine's day

We all know that Valentine's Day is that special day for lovers.
But if that's what you believe Valentine's Day is all about, I think you may be far from the truth.

Valentine's Day has a lot more to it than just being a day for lovers. A few years ago, three or four to be precise. A priest explained the story of how Valentine's Day and how its celebration came into existence to a group of teenagers. I was part of this young folks that day that received that astonishing story and what I learned I would be glad to share with you today.

It is no doubt the day we celebrate romantic love, which makes this day a popular day for couples and loved ones to spend time together, but it has a lot more to it.

Saint Valentine's Day is traditionally associated with red hearts, romance, flowers, candy or other sweet things, and the exchange of cards, called valentines, that in a way is used to express love.

The origin of this beautiful celebration has a trace to the Roman festival. The first Valentine's Day was in the year 496 by the Romans who had a festival called Lupercalia in the middle of February, which was officially the start of their springtime.

Before The existence of Valentine's Day, Valentine (St. Valentine) was persecuted by Emperor Claudius II Gothics in the 14th century. The reason was that Valentine kept blessing and wedding couples in matrimony.

Although it was hard to find why that was supposed to lead to him to become a martyr, if it had not, there might not be a Valentine's Day. Everything does happen for a reason. A few years after his death, the Roman Catholic came to an agreement that he should be proclaimed a saint. What caught my attention the most was the fact that even till heaven, St. Valentine preached the need for love. Not just by word of mouth but by action. The priest told us how Valentine wrote in a piece of paper how much he loved the emperor's daughter as his last words. According to my dad, "The emperor's daughter hated the idea of persecuting Valentines, this was why she fed Valentines and pleaded to him while he was still in prison.

Valentine's Day is all about true LOVE.

Valentine's Day is not the day you go out on a date, attend club events or dance to silly music. Let us not make this special day seem like a dog play.

Valentine's Day is that special day you expose the true meaning of love to your; dad, mum, friend, son, daughter or even strangers. The idea is to love everybody, your enemies inclusive.

Thinking of the perfect valentines DIY gift?

You will have fun watching this, it made me laugh.

What would you do on valentines day.

      Yes, Bro.

Ultimately all does when the God-hour strikes. Just that it cannot be forced and we also cannot help. The best help is service from the Heart -- a way of sharing or showing Love - while the individual experiences his or her own journey.

That is life now, I suppose. I see so many things that totally lack virtue but I say nothing, painfully, as I know that one cannot give pearls to swines. I mean this in a loving way, but I'm using the words of the Christ. Basically, we can only serve humans, who are receptive to what we are trying to give.
