In this article I try to enumerate certain memorable events occured in history from 16th June to,to 30th June, in the past.

June 16

1925-Indian freedom fighter, Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, dies.

2000-India's surface to surface missile-'Prithvi' launched successfully

2000-Germany closes its all nuclear plants, after 32 years of use

June 17

1674-Mother of King Shivaji,Jeejabai,dies.

1895-Gopal Ganesh Agarkar, a great social reformer of Maharashtra,dies.


June 18

1946-Sathyagraha movement starts for the first time, to liberate Goa, from Portugeese occupation(Finally, it was freed and became Indian territory again, on 19-12-1961)

1613- Birth of scientist Pascal

1925- Birth of Salman Rushdie, the American settled English writer

1981-APPLE-India's geo-stationary satellite,launshed successfully.


1873-'Young Mens' Christian Association'started in India.

1989-Death of DR.Salim Ali-famous ornithologist of India.


1948- C.Rajagopalachari was appointed as first Governer General of India, as a step to liberate India from British rule.

1661-Mumbai was presented to King Charles-II as dowry by Portugese on marrying aPortugeese princess


1961-India dclares the production of the first Asian Ultra-SonicAEroplane.

1990-V.V.Giri, former president of India,passes away


1838- Birth of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee,the famous novelist and poet, who wrote the patriotic song-Vande mataram

1932-First official Test cricket match was played by India at Lords, in U.K.

1983-India wins the world cup in cricket beating West Indies.


1945-UNO established.

1980- Oil reserves were found in Bay of Bengal ,by Indian agency.

1964- Teen Murthy Bhavan,The palaceous mansion in New-Delhi,where Jawaharlal Nehru lived, and Where Indira Gandhi was born, was dedicated to Indian nation and converted into-Nehru Memorial House.


1919-Ending the first world war, treaty of Varsaillies.signed.

1972-After winning historic Bangla war, and making Bangla Desh free, Prime minister Indira Gandhi holds talk with Pakistan prime minister Z.A.Bhutto at Shimla.As result of which, 90,000,pak soldiers held by Indian forces were released.


1871-Sreepad Krishna Kohlatkar,humarist and playwright,was born.

1917-Death of Dadabhai Navroji,freedom fighter of India

1986- Statehood given to Mizoram in India, which was till then tha part of another state


1979-post card was introduced in India.
