Represent your Favorite TMNT Character this Halloween

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were created in the early 1980s, and by the early 90s just about everyone on the planet knew who these crime-fighting, pizza eating brothers were. I mean...how could you not immediately recognize Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael? The larger than life turtles with humanistic characteristics lived in the sewers and were led by their sensei Splinter. When the quartet of good-guys weren't fighting evil, they were usually hanging out in the sewer skateboarding, eating, cracking on each other, or hanging out with their best pal, April O'Neil. While Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Halloween costumes never really went away, the costumes are more popular than years past because of the release of the 2014 movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. For this reason and many more, I predict that TMNT costumes for women, men, and children are going to fly off the shelves this year.

Who can Wear a TMNT Halloween Costume?

The best part about TMNT costumes is that anyone can wear them. In fact, just like the comic, cartoons, and live-action movies that everyone loves, the Halloween costumes created to look like these crime-fighters are extremely versatile and unisex. For instance, the traditional head to toe TMNT costume could be worn by anyone. Since you are literally covered from head to toe in mutant green - no one would know who you were unless you wanted them too. For ladies and girls who want to dress as their favorite ninja turtle, but still want to add a little feminine jazz to the costume, you will be glad to know that there are tons of TMNT women's and girl's costumes on the market this year.

Learn more about the TMNT Brothers

Do you think you think you know everything there is to know about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Or, are you trying to decide what TMNT meets your unique personality? If so, check out some of the facts about the pizza loving ninjas below and then make sure to vote for your favorite as well.

Leonardo

Leonardo wears a blue mask and carries two razor sharp swords. He is also the leader of the brothers and usually the one to carry the burdens of the group. Unfortunately, Leo’s leadership skills also cause a great deal of conflict between he and Raphael. On a serious note, Leonardo was named after the artist Leonardo da Vinci.

Michelangelo

Michelangelo wears an orange mask and carries a pair of nunchakus. Mikey, which he prefers to be called, is known as the jokester of the group. With this free spirit and fierce pizza cravings, Mikey is probably the least mature of the brothers. Like Leonardo, Mikey is named after another artist, Michelangelo, an Italian sculptor, painter, poet, engineer, and architect.

Raphael

As far as qualities of a bad boy, Raph, short for Raphael, possesses each of them. Raph wears a dark red mask and carries a pair of sai. Raphael is stronger than his brothers and has a very aggressive personality. Most often, Raph is sarcastic, but when push comes to shove, this bad boy mutant ninja turtle is fiercely loyal to his mutant brothers. Like his other brothers, Raphael is also named after an Italian painter of the same name.

Donatello

When it comes to teenage male stereotypes, TMNT has them all. Donatello, or Donnie for short, is the brains of the group. Donnie is an inventor, scientist, engineer, and genius. Donatello wears a purple mask and carries a bo staff. When compared to his brothers, especially Raph, Donnie is the least violent. However, when pushed to the limit, Donatello will defend his brothers in an instant. Donatello is named after an Italian Renaissance sculptor and artist.
