Nature Can Bring Peace And Healing
Thanksgiving has always been associated with reflecting on the past year events of our lives. Take a minute and think about the changes that occurred in your life this year. If your life was anything like mine, many changes occurred, some unexpected. Both good and bad events happened.
What I want to do right now is draw your attention to how sweet life really is through nature. Nature has always been a healer that brings peace to our lives. Notice how beautiful the world we live in is. Take a look at these photos. They are breath taking. The trees, the calm forest, the autumn leaves, and the lake. If you are going on vacation by vehicle, take your time and enjoy nature.
Food Can Be A Healer
The right food can do wonders for your palate. I don’t know what kinds of food you enjoy, and there is a variety of delicious foods for this season. Chestnut cake, candied apples, fresh food – scallops and fresh salads. The apple is one of nature's best health foods -- don't you want to grab one and bite it? I have hever had Chestnut cake, but it looks so delicious -- how about you?
I hope you will enjoy time with family and friends during this season. Go out when invited, or invite someone over to your home. It dosen't have to be expensive to bring friends over -- have them pitch in. Plan a simple meal and have some games to play. The goal is to have fun and relax.

Job loss; Death In Your Family; Divorce or Sickness? Know that life will get better if you reflect on the right things. Think about the good and positive things. I am reminded about the scripture that says, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Is there something you have been wanting to do, and did not have the time. Hopefully, you will take time and do it now. I was given a Spa Gift Certificate months ago, and haven't used it yet. I will make plans to use it now. Get a good book, see a good movie, go on an overnight stay where you can enjoy nature.
Count Your Blessings
Get you a journal and write your many blessings down. Write things down like abilities: see, hear, walk and talk -- if you can run that's even better. Do you have family? Do you have friends? I know I have much to be thankful for, my husband, children, mother, sister, family and special friends. I am thankful for my church family, my Pastors and good teaching of the bible. Did I say anything tangible yet? Yes, I am thankful for a home, transportation and clothes on my back. Most of all, I am thankful for love and the ability to love.
Chestnut Cake Recipe - From Chestnutsonline
I did some research on the Chestnut Cake and here is the delicious recipe:
1/2 c mild olive oil
1 c chestnut flour + addt'l for dusting
1/4 c hazelnuts
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 large eggs, separated
1/2 c mild honey
1/4 c sugar
Toppings: Powdered sugar or whipped cream/chopped hazelnuts - Yummy!
