Christmas Trees Set the Stage for the Season

I love Christmas! The shopping, the music, the children all wide-eyed with wonder - all of it. I especially love decorating my home (mostly for the neighborhood children as well as my young music students). The excitement of it all is addicting. I usually start early in the year with my shopping so that I don't have to fight the crowds (I hate waiting in line). :-) And I have learned how easy it is to shop on line which provides me with the following benefits:

  • save gas
  • avoid searching endlessly for parking spots
  • no lines
  • shop in the comfort of my home
  • get 100% guarantee on purchases
  • avoid the post office
  • save time
  • stress-free
  • discount pricing
  • no wrapping gifts
  • amazing selection of products
  • get great ideas

This year I bought my Christmas Tree on line with lights beautifully placed right on the tree. I will spray it lightly with a pine tree scent and there, you have it! I am going to decorate it with a few pieces of swarosvski crystal ornaments which I am purchasing on line, along with the ornaments I have collected through the years. And though this will be a bitter-sweet Christmas, my inner child will have a good time. Todd, my beautiful son, would have wanted it that way because he loved Christmas so very much.

Doing your Christmas Shopping on Amazon

Amazon has one of the best selections of Christmas Trees with prices to fit everyones budget.

When you buy from Amazon you get a selection of the lowest prices available because of their immense buying power. Every transaction is safe and secure. It is the most trusted name on or off the internet. Amazon has literally millions of products to choose from. Notice their logo name (from A to Z). I have found the buyer reviews helpful and always read them as well as the rating before I make a purchase. I appreciate reviewing other peoples likes and dislikes. More than anything else, though, I love the convenience of shopping from my home. My purchases arrive right at my front door. Every purchase has a return label for items you decide you need to return. UPS simply picks the item up from you. No hassle, trips, gas, postage or long lines.

From it's humble beginnings in 1995, Amazon.com has grown to be one of the most trusted names on the internet. With 2007 sales of 14.84 billion dollars, millions of people trust their credit card information to Amazon.com. They also take paypal, my favorite way to pay for purchases as this gives me additional protection.

Black Friday shopping - Yikes! I wish you well. I do love Lowes and actually bought my tree from Lowes last year. I'm still reading your fantastic hub over and over in my mind and roaring about your trip to the dentist. :)

I finally put my tree to sleep last year...we had it for ten years. It was sad to let it go, but it served it's purpose well. This is the first year that I will be buying a tree online. Lowes is having a great deal on pre-lits trees on Black Friday. I never, ever, ever shop on Black Friday, but I will make one exception this year. Maybe! :)

unbroken - You have said it so eloquently, combining ears of joy and tears of pain. Yes, it really is a strange experience. I never want to take the thrill and excitement of Christmas away from anyone else, just because of my own hurting. Thank you, dear unBroken for your empathy in spite of all that you have had to deal with. Blessings and peace to you.

I love the convenience of shopping on line. I still remember my MOM dragging my dad and us from Christmas tree stand to Christmas tree stand, looking for the perfect tree.

msorensson - What an interesting story about the luxury of a real tree in the Philipines. I loved how you meditated and stopped eating chicken - wonderful! Thank you msorensson, for the interesting comments.

In the Philippines, real Christmas trees are a luxury, as they only grow in the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio city.

It is one of the things that I always had when I moved to the US...until the day I tasted chicken on my mouth after deep meditation and actually felt the pain of that chicken when it was being sacrificed for food.

Although I still eat meat at the present time, I knew living things can feel pain!

I stopped buying Christmas trees altogether but if I were to have one again, I will follow your advise, vocalcoach.

      Thank you for this hub.

      Great Christmas suggestions, Audrey,

"I'm beginning to feel it's a lot like Christmas..." It's a wonderful time of year and I wouldn't be surprised if your beautiful son, Todd, as well as my own son, Scott, somehow in some way will be celebrating it with us.

Now is the time to start thinking about Christmas. I don't decorate because I am not home for the holiday. Your hub is loaded with some really good information. Can't wait to start shopping.
