The Best Gifts for Wine Lovers
I’m married to a wine lover and am a wine lover myself, so researching the many products for this article was entirely pleasurable. I hope that this hub helps you find the perfect gift for the wine lover in your life, or maybe as a special treat for yourself.
The Rabbit Wine Opener Gift Set
This really is my favourite of all wine openers. Its stylish, powerful yet extremely easy to use has made it an award winner as it effortlessly extract the cork from any wine bottle in just 3 seconds. Metrokane, the manufacturer say that their corkscrews are independently tested for 20,000 cork pulls and that the opener is called rabbit due to its bunny head resemblance. Metrokane has put together a great gift set here with not only the ultimate opener, but also an oil cutter, drip-stop drip ring, worm, wine/champagne sealer, and wax remover. The sets normally retail for over $100 but at the time of writing, Amazon are offering them at an incredible reduction so get yours while you can.
Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator
I was, quite simply, blown away by the difference this product made to our red wine. First trying it without the aerator and then with. It was a different world of taste and flavour - wow! I’m not an expert in how the product works and it does look rather odd. The developers say that their patent protected product “mixes just the right amount of air with your wine to maximise the bouquet, flavor and finish”. The customer reviews have all been excellent and I have to say that this is one wine lovers accessory that I now can’t do without.
Epica Handmade Italian Leather Wine Tasting Journal
The quality of this beautifully hand crafted journal is second to none as the makers, Epica, pride themselves on producing one of a kind products that are designed to last a lifetime and to be handed down through the generations, making them quite extraordinary keepsakes. This wonderful journal contains sections to discuss and commemorate each of your favourite wines including: bouquet, tasting date, best served with suggestions, name of wine, denomination of origin, vintage, area of production, how to serve, rating and price, as well as a well thought out section for notes. It has ample room for up to a hundred bottles of wine and there comes in its own flannel draw string bag and gift box. Another great extra with this gift is the set of wine label removers that accompany it. Epica tell me that additional label removers are available from them upon request.
Wine Cork Candles
These make a wonderful and ‘light’ (excuse the pun!) hearted gift for the wine lover who has everything! A great way to show off his memorable bottles long after they are drunk. The cork candles were the most realistic and long lasting out of those we tried and easy fit into any wine bottle. They cost a little more than other makes but are well worth the extra in my opinion. They are such great fun and will certainly be a talking point at a dinner party.
Breathable Wine Glasses
I first mentioned these miraculous glasses in my recent hub, the Top 5 Christmas Gifts for Men that Won't Break the Bank. They are remarkable in that they actually improve the nose and flavour of your wine without the need to decant or let it breathe in the bottle. Experiencing is believing - they really are amazing and make a memorable gift that will become an invaluable part of a wine lovers collection.
