A mother and daughter relationship may be complex at times yet a special one. Here's a legacy from my mom that I am now passing on to my own daughters. Don't miss the video at the bottom of the hub.
How old is she?
Remind me again
Of the unavoidable fact
That she’s grown up now.
Eighteen already
Can we not clutch time
Verily, verily
She's grown too fast.
But here she comes
In her silky gown
The reddest red
Sleek and chic.
I am in awe,
Astonished indeed
But have to hide
My flighty face!
And so I smiled
At her dazzling face
I can’t believe
She’s eighteen!
Clearly my dear
It’s happening
Hard to believe
The inevitable truth.
She’ll be on her own
Out of the nest soon
That’s kind of sad
Yet proud of her.
She's easy to love
Our true pride and joy
Very caring, very thoughtful
What else to ask?
With our bond so strong
Our love guaranteed
And a relationship
based on trust and honesty.
How do we elude
The realities of life?
I don’t know what to say
I couldn’t even guess.
I am thankful of the past
But wouldn't think much
Except to reflect and appreciate
The blessings that I've had.
I am grateful indeed
For the gift of now.
Remind me again,
How old is she?
