Naperville Park District Culinary: Storybook Cooks, Happy Valentine's Day Mouse

2015 date: Friday, February 13, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Price: $19 for residents, $29 for non-residents

Intended for ages 4 and 5. Kids get to experiment with pouring, measuring, and mixing as they enjoy a classic Valentine's Day story. Recipes are provided. Bring your own apron. You must register 48 hours in advance.

Holiday Highlight: Green Valentines - Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum

2015 date: Saturday, February 14, 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Price: Free with museum admission. $9 for adults, $7 for students and seniors (60+ years old), and $6 for children age 3 to 12. Children under 3 get in for free.

For $10, you get a heart-shaped grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, and a piece of strawberry topped cheesecake. Eli's Bakery Cafe will also be offering free samples, a coloring contest, a selfie photo booth, DIY cheesecake kits, and specials on Valentine's Day cheesecakes. Reservations are recommended.

Father and Daughter Royal Ball, Administrative & Leisure Center

      I know, isn't it a fun round up? I'm hoping to write more articles along this line for other holidays and cities. Who wouldn't want to go to a cake pop class at a great restaurant, right? I know that you'll still enjoy your Valentine's Day crafting! :)

      Oh, IF ONLY I lived close to Chicago.. I would LOVE to do some of these things and attend some of these events you have written about. The cake pop class at the restaurant sounds super fun!
