Who Is Trans-Siberian Orchestra?
These Guys Started As What?
I'm making this page about The Transiberian Orchestra because they are a group of talented musicians. My husband is actually who I have to thank for finding out about these guys.
The Trans-Siberian Orchestra was actually started by Jon Oliva of Savatage fame. I had been a fan of Savatage for years. I couldn't believe it at first, when my husband told me they were the same guys. Some of them anyways. After he told me that though, I listened to my Savatage albums with a new ear, and I could actually see the transformation evolving.
There are two versions of Trans-Siberian Orchestra running around now, and every year, at the holidays, they tour the country. Half of them on the East Coast, and the other half on the West Coast. Thanks to my mother-in-law, we got to check out one of their shows a couple of years ago. If you like music, you need to try and see these guys. The mix of metal and classical music is entertaining and interesting.

My Favorite Album
I've chosen this one because it has the storyline that if Beethoven made a deal with the devil, this is how his last night on Earth would go. It's full of great music, and it has a great story too.
This is a recent release, that was a long time coming. It was supposed to come out in 2007, and my husband was waiting and waiting for it to be released. I did buy this for him for Christmas of 2009, and it's almost as good as Beethoven's last night.
This is a very good album. It's 2 CDs worth of music, but it's so good, you don't really feel like you've been listening to it that long.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra Video
Any Trans-Siberian Orchestra Video is going to be good, so why limit this lens to just one?
How Do You Classify Them?
I think they're a great mix of both types. They've metalized some of the best Christmas music, but at the same time, you can tell they all have classical training as well.
How do you classify this band?
