US Independence Day in ASCII Text Art

Laura makes ASCII art, using MS Notepad. (Since 1998). She is currently exploring adding colour to the plain text to make postcards.

I'm not from the US but I know the US Independence Day is coming up on July 4th. I've always wondered why they seem to name their Independence Day after a day on the calendar rather than calling it by the actual name. Certainly it makes it easy to remember the date anyway.

I haven't made much ASCII art with the US theme. I did create one small flag, but I didn't go into so much detail that I have the correct amount of stars and stripes for the US flag. Sometimes there are limits to how much detail you can create with small sized text art.
