Getting gifts for mom on Mother’s Day is a piece of cake. A box of chocolates, a bouquet of roses or a colorful potted plant, stunning jewelry, a heartfelt card, a dress that was designed with her mind—the possibilities are endless. However for some, finding Dad that right gift can be a bit more trying. He’s probably tired of getting another tie, another tool set, another pen set, another set of golf balls on Father’s Day. This hub will give you various ideas that will help you find the perfect gift for Dad.
Make Him Laugh
If your dad is the type of fellow who doesn’t mind a good laugh and can appreciate a sense of humor, get him a gift that will make him laugh. For example, if your dad enjoys golfing, he might like a golf ball storage sack that looks a lot like a pair of testicles emblazoned with the words, “It takes BALLS to golf.”
Perhaps your dad grills like no other and considers himself the Grilling King. Buy him a drill sergeant grilling apron equipped with plenty of holders for beers and plenty of pockets for all of his grilling utensils.
Does your dad walk around with a beer gut? If he likes to throw back plenty of “cold ones,” get him a Rx prescription beer can holder. All three of these gift ideas are useful and they will make him laugh.
If your father isn’t a golfer, a griller, or a guzzler, figure out something that he enjoys doing and find a humorous gift to go along with it.

Buy Him Business Cards
Does your dad have his own way of making money on the side? Perhaps he mows lawns for people, collect pine straw out yards, buys junk cars, cuts hair, maybe he’s a handyman. Consider designing him business cards (you can get 250 professional business cards online from Vistaprint usually for free or just 10 bucks). That way, the next time someone wants him to mow a lawn or cut their son’s hair, he can hand them a professional business card. (It might be a good idea to get him a business card case as well, to keep the cards in pristine condition).
Make it Personal
There’s nothing like personalizing a gift to make it even more special. Instead of just getting dad a mug for his coffee or beer, find online websites that will engrave a personal message into the gift, like www.thingsremembered.com or www.zazzle.com. You can personalize gifts that reflect your father’s personality, like a cap, a shirt, a tie, a wallet, a mobile device holder, etc.

Gift Cards with a Twist
Women are taught early on that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Keep this in mind even for Father’s Day. You want to make your dad happy, give him a gift card to his favorite restaurant, like Outback Steakhouse, Chili’s or Applebee’s, etc. I personally would avoid fastfood restaurants unless your dad is a fastfood-restaurant type of guy.
Remember, it doesn’t always have to be a gift card to his favorite restaurant. There are loads of gift cards out there. Find one to his favorite store, be it Home Depot, Dick’s Sporting Goods or Foot Locker. Is your dad a gamer? You can buy him Xbox Live, Playstation, Google Play, or even Facebook gift cards.
Furthermore, make the presentation of the gift card unique. Don’t just hand it to him or tuck it in a card. Buy him a new wallet and tuck the gift card inside. Or, you can buy Dad a nice pair of work pants and slip the gift card in the back pocket.
Coupons as a Gift
This is a fun and whimsical idea that Dad might truly appreciate. Create personalized coupons just for him either by hand or with the help of a computer and printer. If you use the computer, you can download a MS Word or Hallmark coupon template to make the task easier. Also, there are websites online, both free and paid, that will allow you to make coupon booklets as gifts. Some of these sites include www.thecouponmaker.com and www.room101.com. When you finish creating the coupons, stack them together and either staple them like a booklet, or punch holes and tie it together with string. The coupons can say things like:
One Free Week: My wife can’t fuss at me.
One Free Week: The kids can’t ask me for any money.
One Lazy Week: I don’t have to clean up anything.
One TV Day: I get the TV to myself for the entire day.
One Game Day: No one can ask me anything until the game goes off.
Once he uses a coupon, he must tear it out the booklet and discard it. Once all the coupons are gone, it’s back to normal living.
Father & Son
Dads are very important and should be celebrated on this special day. For this Father's Day (or for your father's birthday) do something different and thought-provoking. Whether it be something to make him laugh, something personalized to make it even more special, or useful coupons that will come in handy, make this Father's Day one to truly remember.
