There are many great ways to decorate cupcakes.  Here are a collection of some of the better ideas for decorating cupcakes that I have found.  And there are a lot of great ideas here too. You can make heart shaped cupcakes by using molds!  There are some great tips on icing and even a creative twist by using fruit by the foot to decorate the tops!

These molds are reusable and dishwater safe.  Molds measure 2 1/2 inches by 2 3/4 inches.  These molds received five out of five stars during customer reviews.  Customers liked the fact the cakes come out very easily.

Perhaps you don't feel like making little cupcakes but one big cupcake!  The Wilton Giant cupcake pan is great fun.  Just pour cake batter into each side of the 3 d mold cake pan. It holds ten cups of batter.   The cupacke measures 7 inches by 7 inches.  The Wilton Giant cupcake recieved four and a half stars out of five from 123 customer reviews.

These yummy cupcakes are chocolate cupcakes topped with marshmallow topping. The cupcakes themselves were made with mayonnaise an d not eggs.  The cook really liked the Way these cupcakes looked like they had yogurt on top!

To decorate cupcakes sometimes all you need is a little candy.  These cupcakes were decorated by jelly beans, candy corns and other red and pink candy treats.  Don't forget sweetheart candies to get your message across!

Sometimes it is just all about the frosting.  Little ones love decorating Valentine cupcakes with frosting!  If you  do not want to invest in spending money on already prepared colors, you can make your own frosting. There are several ways to make a base frosting that you can separate and color with food coloring.  Also if you don't want to spend money on icing bags for piping just fill a sandwich size ziplock bag with the color of your choice and squeeze it all down to a corner.  Cut the corner a little to allow you to squeeze the icing through!

Buttercream frosting recipie

For an easy buttercream frosting just wisk these ingredients all together. Seperate and color with foodcoloring

  • 6 tbsp of margerine or butter
  • 16 oz bag of confectionary sugar
  • 1/8th tsp salt
  • 3-4 tsp milk

Check out these beautiful cupcakes!  Believe it or not the roses are made with the candy Fruit by the foot.  Use the strawberry or cherry flavored ones. Wonderful hub! Last year I baked cookies and biscotti for Valentine's, but the cupcakes are so popular this year and much easier to bake. Thanks for the decoration ideas. My wedding anniversary is Feb. 13th, so I like to do something special for Valentines.

Yum! There are cupcake stores popping up all over. I imagine these are a direct competitor to the ice cream shops. I will take the dark chocolate ones - yummy! I want the heart shape mold. Great Hub!
