Romancing the Riesling on Old Mission Peninsula

Gather your besties or snag your love for a day of celebrating your love--of wine. On Saturday, February 18th from 10 AM to 5 PM the wineries of Old Mission Peninsula will be hosting this annual wine-love-fest complete with wine-worthy eats and beautiful views. Tickets are $20 ahead of time or $25 at the door.

Valentine's Wine Dinner at Chateau Chantal

Save room! On the evening of Saturday, February 18th Chateau Chantal will present a five course meal, each course paired with a unique Chateau Chantal wine.

Winter Microbrew Festival in Downtown Traverse City

Wine not your thing? Bundle up and head into downtown TC for the annual Winter Microbrew festival on Saturday, February 11th from 4 PM to 10 PM. Local favorites Joshua Davis Trio and beer, beer, beer under a halo of snow will be the perfect prelude to a cozy, warm night in. Plus, 100% of the proceeds from alcohol sales will go to a local charity.



  • Take a snowy walk to the Bijou. Who really cares what's playing. At least you won't have to fight the maddening crowds at the IMAX.
  • Steal a kiss at the top of Wayne Hill. Just please, please put the car in park.
  • Grab some takeout for Netflix and Optional Chill (I literally just found out what "Netflix and Chill" means as I was writing this). The Filling Station, Thai Cafe, Folgarelli's, and Grand Traverse Pie Company are all worthy options.

Have a Day-Date at Georgina's

Call 231-943-1555 to make a reservation, like, yesterday for Georgina's on Front Street and treat your date and yoself to the crazy delicious Latin + Asian fusion of chef Anthony Craig. If your date is picky there's still amazing burgers, fries, and salads!

Get Cozy at the Hygge Exhibit

Celebrate winter's warmth with the multi-media art exhibit "Hygge: A Winter's Glow" happening at the Crooked Tree Arts center throughout Valentine's week. Admission is free. For more info email check out

Sip and Dab at Higher Art Gallery


Get creative from 6-9 PM on February 10th at Higher Art Gallery on Union Street. Bring your favorite wine to sip on paired with a snack of your choice and show off your skills--or lack thereof-- with a relaxed step-by-step painting class. Tickets are $45 each and include the cost of supplies.

Have a Family Date at Cherry Republic's Grand Cafe

If you're looking for family-friendly fare, check out the newly renovated Cherry Republic on Front Street in Traverse. Shop for sweet cherry treats done every way possible as you wander to The Grand Cafe in the back of the building, which serves pizza, ice cream, pie, sandwiches, and their own brand of sweet cherry sodas. Littles can play in the ball pit and tree fort while you relax.

Treat Your Little Sweethearts with Treats from Sweet Tartlette

Chef Sarah Steele is whipping up our favorite confections -- cupcakes, macarons, tarts, truffles, and more at Sweet Tartlette, located at 445 E Front Street.

Along with yummy Valentine's treats, Sweet Tartlette offers baking classes for kids and grown ups too.On Saturday, February 11th at 2:30 PM kids ages 5-12 will cut out and decorate their very own Valentinesy cookies to take home (and share, of course!) $45 per child, including the cost of supplies. Hurry! Class is limited to 5 students.

  • Have a day-date at BLK MRKT and then see where things go.
  • Ride the glass elevator up to dinner at Aerie in The Grand Traverse Resort. If your date is super cool, just skip dinner, ride the elevator and then stuff your faces at Dylan's Candy Bar on the main floor.
  • Take a stroll to the State Theater for a movie and end the evening a hop, skip, and jump away with dinner at Amical.
