Valentines Day fever

Updated on February 9, 2015

Well Valentines Day is coming, and time to celebrate your love. Time to cherish and rejoice in your love. But, spare a thought for your friends who are single. Believe me no single person looks forward to this day, in fact they dread it. Increasing media hype and the social pressure around it has only made it worse. In fact a single friend of mine usually disappears around this time to avoid the inevitable questions about her valentine day plans. So if you are single and not ready to mingle, don't be in despair here are some ways to make the day special and not hide:

1. Celebrate: yes celebrate throw a party, but the caveat is that only singles allowed. Invite all your single friends and they in turn invite their single friends, the more the merrier. A great way to increase your social circle and who knows you might meet the special someone.

2. Pamper and pander to yourself: if you are not in the mood to party, no worries; time to pamper yourself. Book a spa appointment or get a makeover, no time like this then to work on oneself. While we all know the importance of being a good human being, good packaging never hurt. Looking good never hurts, and tomorrow is another day, who knows who might notice your shining hair and glowing skin.

3.Vacation: Plan a singles trip, take your single friends along and go for a vacay!! No better way to meet new exciting people.

4. Volunteer: while there are many interesting ways of meeting new people, try volunteering for a favourite cause. Not only you are contributing to a social cause but you also get to meet like minded people, better than a blind date anyday.

Hope these tips help in driving the blues away, do write in to tell me if it helped or you all can write in with your own ideas, till then.....love

These are all really thoughtful ideas. No one really thinks about single people on Valentine's day. I liked your singles only party on Valentine's day!
