Weekend special feelings on a lazy Sunday

A sunny Sunday and some Siesta!

Sunday clears away the rust of the whole week.” – by Joseph Adison.

After office was over yesterday when I left for home, a strong urge to relax after a very hectic week has made me think hard, what to do? We have a half working day on Saturday. Straight from Office at 2 PM, I went to pick up Apurba (my hubby) from his work place. Then we started for home. I just told him that we need to relax for we had a very hectic schedule during the whole week. So that was it, I booked a Beauty Parlour visit and we went Ticket hunting for “Cocktail”, a Hindi movie going on in theatre. But we could not get tickets for it was running full house. No issue we can catch up some other time, we both agreed.

After reaching home I checked up with son’s studies as his Exam is due from 24th (two days to go). Then we all had a late lunch of vegetarian meal. As it was a typical summer day we had decided to have a light lunch. After lunch I went out for my Parlour visit. I had four hour indulging session with complete spa routine. After that I headed for home. It was very relaxing. It felt like, I was more than ready to face a long time with my usual hectic schedule with much energy and fervour.

A light family dinner and then off to bed. I had a very nice sleep after the hair spa and body massage session. A peacefully relaxing sleep was the thing I was craving so much for may be last 10 days. As for my too frantic life, somehow after being so much tired also I had not had a good sleep and I had been reacting like a complete zombie. Then last night, it was a complete relaxing sleep and made me all very happy and ready again with full energy to face life.

We started the Sunday early, at 6AM. Both had tea after a usual one hour yoga practice. Then a warm shower and after prayer we both went for Sunday special shopping. We prefer to do an elaborate shopping of household requirements on Sunday morning to save our time on weekdays. First we were off for vegetable round which I like a lot. I really enjoy vegetable shopping more than anything which is quite a laughingstock among all my closer circuit. But I do not care at all and enjoy it thoroughly always. The fresh greens and delicious looking vegetables always make me feel re-energised. This is the truth anyway. A full luggage booth with vegetables of our car is the most satisfying feel always for me. I feel very content with life as some very little things make me happy and peaceful always. Then we went to buy mutton as this is a weekly treat for son always.

After reaching home we had a nice breakfast of hot Puris with Potato curry, mint chutney and milk tea, as Sunday special breakfast. Then my helping lady (cook) arrived and happily enough I handed over the kitchen to her. Special lunch menu is Mutton curry, Green salad, fresh seasonal greens dish, dal with green papaya and roasted eggplant chutney with coriander leaves and plain rice.

After that I explained a science chapter to son. Then I am compiling this hub as felt like spending some time with hubpages. We are yet to have lunch. Apurba (hubby) is busy in making some porridge for evening as he always enjoys cooking. We allowed son to watch some TV as he was getting tired of studies.

After a sinful lazy Sunday late lunch, I will prefer to lose myself in my weekly special siesta. Then no plan for evening as we will let it go as it will be for a refreshing week ahead. An early dinner with left over as we have to get up at 5AM in the morning for Reet’s(son) school.

Wish you all my friends out there, have a very relaxing Sunday and a refreshing week ahead. It’s very necessary to re-charge our system and relax well for a happy life. The way of relaxation may differ person to person. This way is most relaxing for me. Some may prefer to party hard late night and that may be their way to relax. Whatever it is, enjoy your weekend and chill out for a lively life ahead.

What a pleasant read! I feel refreshed and relaxed from just reading "Weekend Special." You must have been truly invigorated!

You write so colorfully, so descriptive. Your style pulls me in and makes the experience real. Like diving into a cool blue ocean and becoming "one" with "wet."

      Such thanks :-)
