Come In If You Dare...
For some people, Halloween is not just about dressing up, bobbing for apples, and trick-or-treating. Maybe you are just too old to be going out and begging for candy. I mean you could try, but let's see how far that will get you. Some like to go all out and visit some very spooky places for a good thrill and basically to scare the pants off of themselves or someone else. Haunted mazes, fun houses, and some truly haunted houses. Sounds like a blast, right? Right. I have found some of the creepiest places from all over the country to visit so you can find the perfect place for you to get your scare on!
This thrill park was dreamed up and created by those incredible Disney Imagineers. Located in Terrell, Texas, this spooky park scares the hair off of more then 20,000 visitors a year and was selected as one of the top locations of America's Best Haunts of 2010!
The spook house covers 50 acres with a total of 8 attractions. Do not ask them how long touring will take because they will in turn ask you how fast you can run. Yikes! All 8 of their attractions are extremely terrifying, but among their most popular and newest one is the Labyrinth of Terror led by the wicked Lady Cassandra as you tour through madness and mayhem. The highlight is the Verdun Manor where a huge dragon awaits you to blow his fiery breath, then up the stairs you go where human/animal hybrids are waiting for you to get their vengeance.
This haunted location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is among some of the most popular haunted tourist locations in the country. It was also featured on the Travel Channel. The warehouse consists of four mazes, with the first being their iChem Industries Factory where scientists who claim to be detoxifying the planet actually are using the toxins for genetic modification. That is where their most vicious scarers are, but the next maze is the actual asylum, and most claim that it is there where the best frightening experiences happen. The story consists of psychiatry doctor Robert T. Brash who experimented with his patients and then tortured them. That is until the asylums patients finally took over and brutally killed the whole staff before turning on each other. What most thrill seekers like best is the mind playing games and effects. They play with your minds as if trying to convince you that you need to check into the asylum. Terrifying!
The next maze is through the Undercroft Cemetary which is basically you walking through a creepy cemetery with a few scarers now and then. It is the end of that maze where they nearly knock your socks off with two scare actors and their deafening, screaming abilities. The final maze is Amygdala, which stands for the almond-shape part in the cerebellum that triggers your emotion of fear and aggression. This part is pitch black and you must find your way around while terrified of what you may find. Are you ready to get lock downed in this asylum?

This is Cleveland, Ohio's biggest and best haunted house! Seven Floors of Hell isn't just seven floors of hell, it is seven houses each with its own terrorizing theme! Themes in which they change every single year for the best horrific show out there. They love the element of surprise and let's just say it consists of a Blood Barn, a Gas Chamber, Camp Nightmare, House of Nightmares, Mausoleum, Evil Visions, and a Mental Ward. What more could you die for? I mean ask for. If you think you are tough enough to handle it, then come on over to Cleveland. It will take about two hours to make it through all the houses. Scream In The Dark
Prepare, all you Halloween junkies, for the all time thrill in Bakersfield, California. With a new theme every year to keep visitors on their toes, there is no telling what you could be walking into. They have done everything from evil hillbillies, horrors of the sea, mummies and cyborgs, to an alien invasion. The creator, David Enloe, got sparked by the idea of starting his own spook house from years of doing one at his own home. From haunting the local kids to a world wide phenomena of good old fashioned scaring, this place has been named the number one among many in America.
From the second you step out of your car in the parking lot you better watch out, they are waiting! Step inside the creepy dollhouse for a good thrill. This place is not for the weak though, some have even passed out in these haunted walls from the monster charades!
Hangman's House of Horrors
Down in Fort Worth, Texas lies a horrific place and a true house of horror. With its featuring one main haunting event, they also include several smaller ones all with different themes to add to the thrilling adventure. You might want to try those out first to build up the anticipation for the main event. For those looking for more fun or who do not dare to go in, they manage concession stands, karaoke, and live bands. Though they have tons of visitors each year and make tons of money, all proceeds go to charity. They have been featured on MSNBC and the Travel Channel as well.
The main event is the site to see where they will cram you in a small room and explain The Legend of the Hangman tale who was a man in the 1800's that hung over a hundred people along the Trinity River in the dark. After being caught and sentenced to the end of the rope himself, the next day his body disappeared and the legend lives on! It will then open up to several mazes where you will uncover everything from rooms of white sheets, the room of mirrors and trippy strobe lights, a room based off the Saw movies, the spinning tunnel room, to the checkered disorientation room. All while the very talented actors sneak up behind you or jump out from the most inconspicuous places. Where something is hiding in every corner and behind every door, come on in to the wrath of the murdering Hangman. Hope you make it out alive.
This Video is Hillarious!
This haunted attraction located in St. Louis, Missouri is said to be the "king" of haunted houses. Though the house in itself can scare the absolute ba-jeebers out of you, that is not all there is to be offered. It is actually a part of a St. Louis event called Scarefest which includes multiple venues for all your frightening needs. The Darkness includes multiple floors and is complimented with a ton of intricate and insane details. The haunted greenhouse with a man eating Venus Flytrap is their latest improvement. There is also a 3D exhibit called Terrorvisions that will be sure to shake you up with their crazy clowns, deranged ice cream men, mazes and giant monsters.
No expense is spared with these people to scare the absolute hell right out of you. And to prove that is the fact that they have been featured on National Geographic, Travel Channel, The History Channel, and right smack dab on the front cover of USA Today. Why so much attention? Well, they are different you see. Instead of just a haunted house with monsters popping out of corners, this place is set up like a real live Hollywood movie set playing right out in front of you. Only you are the screaming main star of this horrifying movie. Are you ready to put your acting skills to the test?

Scared yet? Ok, how about this. You must walk through alone. What!? That's right people. NYC's most famous haunted house has a disclaimer and some pretty interesting rules. Oh and you WILL be touched. This is where your worst nightmare will come true. Audio and video stimulation will test all your limits to the max and you'll swear you have gone crazy or mad. And with about 50% of the experience in complete darkness, God only knows what truly chilling scenes you are about to partake. Few glimpses of light while being touched, pushed, and held while having to try to walk and crawl through a pure horrifying nightmare in your protective mask provided at the front gate. Why must you be over the age of 18? Well for starters, it can get pretty X-Rated in there with vixen-like mental patients, thugs, and just sex and violence period. Not literally, but close enough. This is a horror movie straight from Hell, and you my friend, are their only victim.
