What to Buy The Man Who Has Everything This Christmas

Updated on October 26, 2011

Here’s a selection of tried and tested gifts, ranging from the kitsch to the downright bizarre. I like to think I’ve done my research well and have found something here for every man in your life that’s normally impossible to buy for.

The iRobot Vacuuming Robot

This has to be the ultimate in robotic housemaids for the man who has everything and also of great benefit for the woman in his life, if like my husband, he would never normally think of lifting a vacuum.  The dogs were amused by it and it did clean amazingly well.  It was so entertaining to watch as it danced around the room, leaving the floor spick and span.  Take a look at the hilarious YouTube video link and see it in action for yourself.  There’s also a manufacturers product video on the Amazon link.  Definitely one for the Christmas list this year!

Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker

A great way to celebrate the cold weather but perfect for the summertime too.  Simply fill this kitsch looking ball with ice, rock salt and the ingredients for your favorite ice cream for which a number of recipes are included.  Then, quite literally, 'play ball' whilst the maker does all the work.  I didn’t have a chance to personally try this product out, but friends of mine who have one say that they’re great fun and a unique gift idea - he probably won’t be expecting one of these!

A Kayak for Two!

This is a great touring kayak which accommodates two paddlers very comfortably and comes complete with paddles. It's inflatable, making it easy to transport and offers excellent value for money.  I think it makes a superb Christmas choice, guaranteed to bring many happy days on the water, and it’s certainly something different to place under the tree!

Wine Cork Candles

These make a wonderful and ‘light’ (excuse the pun!) hearted gift for a wine lover who has everything!  A great way to show off his memorable bottles long after they are drunk.  The cork candles were the most realistic and long lasting of those we tried and easily sit in the neck of wine bottle. They are great fun and would certainly be a talking point at a dinner party.

An Ecosphere

Give him his own little sustainable world.  The developers, NASA, develop the technology surrounding these remarkable spheres as part of an planetary biosphere study.  They also make a wonderfully unique gift, each one providing a working self-sufficient ecosystem that’s described by the retailer as being “a delicate coexistence of plant and animal life. Red shrimp, algae and microbes all thrive in the handblown glass sphere of seawater.”  If you really want to give him the world then what could be better than this?

His and Hers Interlocking Coffee Mugs

I really loved the design and quality of these mugs.  They’re utterly romantic and provide a unique way for him to share a cuppa with you on those cold winter nights.  Each mug can be personalized for greater individuality.  And, why not fill them with his favourite coffee roasts for added indulgence? A great unique gift set at an excellent price.

What about highly unique and museum quality gifts for "He who has everything" ? Especially if he is a collector or admirer of vintage movies, sports or history. Such as rare celebrity autographs, original vintage movie posters (used to promote the 1939 Wizard of OZ), vintage sports memorabilia, historical memorabilia such as a letter signed by John F Kennedy. This web site has such incredible stuff!!!
