Laura makes ASCII art, using MS Notepad. (Since 1998). She is currently exploring adding colour to the plain text to make postcards.

The Year of the Boar may be known as the Year of the Pig, more commonly. However, the boar seems to have more dignity as they are not thought of as a stepping stone to having bacon on the table for breakfast. There is something lost when an animal is commonly born and raised to be eaten versus the boar living free (though not so welcome in many areas).

People born in the Year of the Boar can be a little shy but they are fun to be around once they unwind and become comfortable. Boar people enjoy life when things are going good but they can cope and roll with the punches if their luck or fortune changes. Boar people tend to be patient and make great friends, once you get past their reserved, shy nature.

Year of the Boar people enjoy a comfortable life. They will become quiet and do what they can to avoid conflict or arguments. However, they will defend themselves fiercely once they decide they have done enough backing off or, if they feel they have become backed into a corner.

The Year of the Boar is the last of the 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac. My wonderful nephew, Zack was born in the Year of the Pig. Zack says Pig of okay because Zack loves bacon. Most teenage boys tend to agree. Bacon is the popular trend ingredient this past year. Poor pigs.

However, if you or someone you know, were born in the Year of the Pig/ Boar you may enjoy seeing this gallery of ASCII art for the Year of the Boar. I've included pigs also.
