Year of the Hare: Happy New Year ASCII Text Art

Laura makes ASCII art, using MS Notepad. (Since 1998). She is currently exploring adding colour to the plain text to make postcards.

Here are a selection of ASCII art hares/ rabbits to inspire you for the Year of the Hare, in Chinese astrology.

Also known as the Year of the Rabbit and the Year of the Cat in some cultures. I prefer hare because the rabbit has become part of our culture in the way of chocolate bunnies, fluffy pet rabbits and even the dreaded dust bunny. If the Year of the Rabbit was your year, in the Chinese zodiac, you might prefer to think of it as the Year of the Hare too. Wild rabbits may still be rabbits but they don't have the fluffy reputation.

The Year of the Hare will begin again in 2014. Each of the years in Chinese astrology come around every 12 years. They say when your year comes around it should be an especially good year for you. Lots of changes and good things coming your way.

Good luck Year of the Hare people!
