Laura makes ASCII art, using MS Notepad. (Since 1998). She is currently exploring adding colour to the plain text to make postcards.

People born in the Year of the Rooster are hard working, confident, courageous and resourceful. Rooster people tend to be active and crowd pleasers. They are talkative, even outspoken. Rooster people are also loyal and honest. They like to appear attractive and be at the centre of attention. Rooster people are usually healthy, with a healthy lifestyle, as they especially enjoy being active in sports.

Rooster people are good friends as they will keep their promises and they will be true to their word once they have given it. However, Rooster people will brag about their accomplishments and some people will not take the Rooster pride very well. Friends of Rooster people will have to be able to play second fiddle in order to let the Rooster be the star at times.

I've created this ASCII art gallery of roosters and chickens too, for the Chinese zodiac, Year of the Rooster. I thought it was only right to include some ASCII art chickens too because no one has yet decided which came first, the chicken or the egg. No one seems to think about the input of the rooster in that old riddle. Yet, there would not be more chickens from the eggs if the rooster were not there to start his crowing each morning and wake everyone up for the start of a new day or work on the farm.

People are formed by more than the year of their birth. I always think of astrology as flawed because it only takes into account the very beginning of a new life, not everything that happens after that.

I was born in the year of the Rooster but so much of this doesn't fit my personality. I do love roosters. I like your rooster designs. Interesting hub voted up.
