Zombie Walk Halloween
Zombie Walk Halloween
Zombie Walk Halloween it seems to be a very interesting adventure. Well tonight I went out to my first Zombie walk and watched it. There were many people including families that were enjoying this event and the people who organized it used Facebook as the main source of communication. The people who put the even together did lots of hard work and it was worth it.
What is a Zombie Walk ?
Basically a Zombie walk is where a big gathering of people that dress up like dead zombies and walk down the street in pacts. Some have themes where there are swat teams trying to stop the Zombies and local people running away from them. The most interesting thing that I noticed is the effort people put into their costumes. I saw lots of fake blood, gore and ripped up clothes. There were people with masks and dead rubber body parts. People were acting like zombies walking with limps and making strange yet funny noises. Cars driving by slowed down to see the zombies walking down the street and if you didn’t know this was going on that makes it even stranger. These people were having loads of laughs and great family fun.
Zombie walks are becoming more and more popular in North America. The earliest zombie walk was held in August 2001 in Sacramento. People who are major fans of zombie movies or just normal people come out and partake in the event. There also have been gatherings to try to beat or set a Guiness world record for the number of people who are gathering. On October 26, 2009 almost 50 cities participated in World Zombie Day hosting multiple different events including walks dressed up like zombies.
Well I was only an observer this year but I figure I’m going to get dressed up next year like a zombie and walk around all funny and making strange noises to entertain people. I am a big fan of zombie movies including B rated ones. I have seen some of the worst movies ever made and those are my favorites. Here are some recommendations.
Night of the Dead – The 1960 and 1984 one
Dawn of the Dead – The Original and New one
Day of the Dead
Shawn of the Dead – starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, my favorite zombie film of all time.
28 Days and 28 Weeks Later
Dead Meat – Irish zombie film with lots of swearing
Land of the Dead
Diary of the Dead
