Wood Fired Pizza Ovens for Your Favorite Backyard Party Host

If there's someone on your Christmas (or any gift) list who loves backyard BBQ's, cookouts, cooking, pizza or smoked meats a wood-fired pizza oven might just be the ticket to making them the King (or Queen) of this summer's backyard parties!

In our house, we've started dreaming about owning and operating a small town brewery and pizzeria and are increasingly convinced that a wood-fired pizza would be the perfect accompaniment to locally brewed beers in a small Wyoming town.

So whether your looking for a great gift for the backyard entertaining enthusiast or the entrepreneurial micro-brew minded member of your family, a wood-fired pizza oven just may be the very best choice! I know that I would just about die of happiness if I found one of these wrapped up in a large bow for Christmas, a birthday or any ole-day as a motivation to get to making some Pizza Crust and dreaming up the perfect toppings for some summer fun and fabulous dining opportunities from your very own home!

Wood-Fired Pizza Concepts for those with Budgets

Unfortunately, we aren't all made of money and even though nothing quite beats an authentic wood-fired pizza, these wallet-friendly options provide a few similar qualities of a traditional wood-fired pizza for a fraction of the cost!

We consistently use pizza stones for all of our pizza baking and experimenting at home and have yet to be disappointed in the results.

Pizza Recipes from our Kitchen

Since we have a desire to master pizza-making as well as eventual wood-fired oven pizza making, we've embarked on numerous pizza experiments.

While we've yet to have the luxury of throwing one of these pies into a wood-fired pizza ovens, using our pizza stone and imagination we've come up with some exciting flavor combinations such as the French-Philly pictured above which combines the joys of a French Dip and a Philly Cheese-steak and is even dipped in au jus!

Other successful pizza pies out of our kitchen have been the fall-inspired Roasted Squash and Caramelized Onion Pizza as well as classic Supreme Pizza with home-made pizza sauce that truly brought the whole pie to a whole new level!

Sometimes our pies are just inspired by what's in the fridge such as this Tomato and Onion Preserve Pizza or this Bacon, Mushroom and Green Onion Pizza.

Other times, we let our cravings or our creativity lead the way and end up with Spinach Artichoke Dip and Chicken Pizza or the slightly spicy Kimchi-Bacon Pizza.

However you top it, it's sure to be delicious!

@PNWtravels: I agree! While not a "pocket-change" purchase, I would have thought they'd be a lot more expensive as well!

@artbyrodriguez: Of course I'd love to think that we and others could drop a few grand on an outdoor pizza oven, but I know, in our house, a pizza stone is a more reasonable purchase ;)

I have a pizza stone which I've been using religiously for years in my kitchen. But my partner and I have been thinking about getting a pizza oven built for our backyard one of these days.
