Give the Gift of Fresh Air

Updated on August 4, 2013

Give an Air Purfier to a Pet Owner!

Do you have friends or family that have pets? I think almost everyone does.

Living with a dog, cat or both, you can truly understand shedding; unless your pet has hair instead of fur, or no hair at all.

At any holiday or occasion, and as house warming gifts, I have given air purifiers. They are truly the gift that keeps on giving.

I can highly recommend a Honeywell Air Purifier as a gift to anyone you love. The two types that I own are shown below.

Please feel free to look around and participate and let me know if you liked this idea or this site in the Guestbook.

Thanks for the visit!

Dust and Dander Go Away

Don't come back another day

Growing up, I never thought about air purifiers and my Father would probably have thought of them as a gadget. Fresh air was just being outside, even though there was a lot of pollen where I lived.

Today, I can't live without them. Even in the Fall, when it is cool outside and we have the doors or windows open, we still leave the purifiers running as they will keep the air fresh in the immediate area.

We had these purifiers during our last move and we had to use a litter box for our feline friend. We kept the air purifiers running and it kept the air fresh for us.

I don't think too many would think of giving an appliance for Christmas, but this is one that will keep your friends or family healthy and if you are selfish, the air will be nice when you visit also.

I can't think of better gifts and usually try to find good deals on them throughout the year and keep them to give to someone who has never received one from me.

The ultimate gift of health, fresh air!

A Little Dusty Soundtrack for your Visit - Dust in the Wind by Kansas

What the Heck-a is Hepa?

"HEPA" is an acronym for High-Efficiency Particulate Air.

These are filters that are so good that they are used in medical facilities and places where the air must be very clean. The Government needs efficiency at 99.7% (the percentage of particles that are filtered) and these filters are excellent for that use.

Several years ago, the development of HEPA was included in home air purifiers.

HEPA filters use various fibers and they more efficient than the membrane filters that were previously used in air filtration systems.

HEPA filters are very good for your health as they filter all of the air in your house several times a day.

Be healthy and buy HEPA!

This is the air purifier I have in my bedroom and in my office. They are both highly rated for pet dander and allergies.

I have had these several years and they are constantly running. The filter is washable and lasts forever.

They are really not that expensive and are worth the investment. You will notice the difference within a day or so. You sleep much better and they filter the whole room 5 times a day. I have a taller air purifier in my living room because it is larger but the once that are in the bedroom are my favorites.

They filter 95% of all allergens, including smoke, mold and also will take the smell away if you have litter boxes or smelly dogs.

This is a taller model of the Honeywell Air Purifier.

I have this model in my living room as it filters out a larger area. Like the smaller model, it filters the air in your home 5 times a day and will last a long time.

My model is white but the black model is as effective. It runs very quietly and after a while, you don't notice the sound at all.

I recommend this model although it is a little more expensive. The filters are washable and will last a lifetime.

Don't pass this up as a gift for yourself or someone else during Christmas!

Air purifiers are for any person who has an allergy.

Whether your allergies are due to an allergic reaction to your pets or pollen, Honeywell makes the best filters for your health that you can purchase.

Should you own a Pet if you have Pet Allergies?

Many love pets but many are also allergic. Would you own a pet if you had pet allergies?

Would you get a pet if you were allergic to it?

I would; There are many types of fantastic allergy medications and I would take them.

I probably would because life would be very lonely without a pet. However I guess it would really depend of the severity of the allergy. I am asthmatic and my son was born with a severe allergy to cats among everything else and we had three cats at the time. We never got rid of the cats, just couldn't do it, we just altered where they slept and never allowed them in his room. We used air purifiers throughout the house. My son is now allergy free. We now have dogs and have no problems. :)

Some people can. My brother-in-law lives with a cat though he is slightly allergic. Folks can get shots if they really can't live without an animal.

There are also Hypoallergenic pets, which is a great choice for people with allergies.

No, I could not stand being on allergy medication just to have a pet.

I am completely against it. My daughter has recently recovered from a serious illness which saw her in Intensive Care in September of this year, and hospitalized for a number of weeks. Root cause? Severe cat allergies.. And will my husband re-home them? Grrrr... it really is a bone of contention!

        No, I would not.

An air purifier is the perfect gift for anyone who owns a dog or a cat and Hepa filters are the best in filtering out allergens and pet dander.

We have our own cats, plus several foster kitties. The foster kitties prefer clumping litter, which makes me sneeze all day long. I try to keep those boxes in the basement, but one of the foster kitties is blind so her things are in a bedroom. Out last air purified finally crashed and burned, but they do help and we should probably get a new one (or two). Thanks for the recommendation. The last one cost about $500, so I'm liking this price range.

An air purifier would make a great gift. I would love to receive one, and with 3 pets in the home it would certainly get a workout! Great gift idea!
