Do you celebrate May Day - May 1?

Do you celebrate this often overlooked holiday?  Are there May queen dresses to be fitted, MayDay baskets to be groomed, and dinners to be served?  What other type of holiday festivities does your family or culture equate with the first day of May?

May 1st for me is and always has been International Worker's Day. As I am part of the Occupy Movement, I will be heading downtown for our re-occupation. Hundreds of cities around the world will have people marching on the streets on May 1st. Join us! : )

Yes, it looks like the Occupy Movement and the Occupy Wall Street Mayday Strike will be in full force on May 1.  We'll see how well a job of protesting they end up doing or whether their actions are stifled by the NYPD and Mayor Bloomberg as quickly as they began.  Sleeping in a tent is not going to change anything, but I'm sure that it is fun for the adventurous who take that path.  Same for other cities.  What is the main goal?  I believe that awareness of the evil is at a saturation point, and the only way to truly increase consciousness would be to take more progressive measures.  I'm not against the Occupy Wall Street movement, but I just do not see it as very productive at the moment.

With all respect, what are You doing to bring better change in our world? Do let us know if You have better ideas. I for one, am all open to suggestions. A positive comment would have been much better but I'll work with whatever I guess ...

I'm sorry if you took my comment in a negative manner.  I support anything and anyone trying to change the system, so in that regards good luck.  I guess I'm just a little skeptical. Pro tip: If you break law do not post it on Facebook or Twitter.

Sorry for taking your comment on a negative tone. This is what concerned me: "I believe that awareness of the evil is at a saturation point".
I believe that is not the case. Thank You for the tips.

Ok, let us know how it goes today.  You took it out of context, I qualified it with "more progressive measures" must be taken.  No longer can Occupy merely occupy - the time is now.

Since I have never seen a May Pole anywhere in our local area, I just pick a bouquet of flowers, tie a ribbon around them, insert them into a paper doily or basket I made from construction paper, and give it to a loved one.

We had great fun, my siblings and I, doing this when we were kids. The delight and loving thoughts are still as meaningful today as they were in the past.
