I don't know abour haunted houses. But the United States' first documented serial killer is one of my favorite stories. H. H. Holmes had a house built that seemed to be more like a castle with trap doors, a basement where he killed the visitors who would stay in his home. People believed the castle was haunted with the souls of the 27 people they found proof that he tortured. They burned the house down years ago. It was nicknamed the "murder castle". Those he harmed were mostly women with some men and children as well. It is unsure how many people died under his hand because the burnt remains were difficult to tell the number of bodies. Even so, the true number of his victims has been thought of as 100 up to 200.
