You're right about the holiday season being too long, but you sound like you make up for any distress you feel on Super bowl Monday. Good for you!
It's definitely better if you don't have to drive a long way to just get there, because at the end of the day you have to turn around and make the drive again. Hopefully you'll see some winter wonderland sites along the way.
If you don't enjoy being there, host your own get together or stay home.
If you stay home, the entire family gangs up on you. We're all still upset with my cousin's wife because she hasn't visited for two years. It's a dead end either way.
You're so right. No one should have to feel like a failure, especially during the Christmas season. Thank you, Lisa
cat on a soapbox,
I know. What happened to sitting by the fire and drinking hot cider?
Boxing Day? Is that when we all physically take out our frustrations from the holidays on each other? Lisa
I know my niece who's eight wants a pair of $600 headphones as one of her presents this year. Thanks, Lisa
In this electronic world we've shortened names for everything to keep up with the fast pace of our society.. Thanks, Lisa.
Early use of "Xmas" includes Bernard Ward's History of St. Edmund's college, Old Hall (originally published circa 1755). An earlier version, "X'temmas", dates to 1551. Hardly new
It's great that you have a sense of humor with all that's going on during the holidays. You're cool! Lisa
I get you about being under the covers until Spring. It does sound like you do a great thing by volunteering though. Also, I would like nothing better than to go to the movies on Christmas Day. Thinking of you, Lisa
