   How many Christmas Cards are you mailing this year?
   
   Have you usually sent Christmas Cards by mail?  Are you sending fewer cards this year?  What are your reasons?

   I usually send out about 50-60 cards each year (we have a huge family!). The only reason I'd send out fewer cards is if I cannot get a new address for some reason.

      I used to send out the same amount too, and finding new addresses was always so complicated.  This year, I simply can't afford it.  I'm retired and my income is greatly reduced.  I'm just sending about 12 to important old friends and distant family.

   I know some people who will forgo the expense of cards/postage this year, but our family will still send out 50-60. If we were to reduce the number, we'd eliminate those we are more likely to see regularly. All in all, sending cards to those who are far away and rarely seen is STILL a great catch up tool and a good value.

   I've bought 40 cards fpr starters - supporting a children's charity - writing and posting is my dilemma, I procrastinate.  I need to have my overseas cards in the mail soon. Thank you for this reminder - I'll definitely begin tonight.

   I send Christmas cards, birthday cards and stuff through email because I don't have friends and I have penpals and twitter friends. My mail friends has increased which is why I'll be sending 16 Christmas cards via email.

   GoodLady, I haven't send any Christmas cards at all for about six or seven years.  I used to send about 50 or 60 then realised that most of them were sent to people I saw every day of the year, at work or near neighbours.
   
   I decided to stop sending them and send what I would have spent on them to a local children's cancer charity.  I have kept this up and I just tell people that I don't send them but that the charity (and trees) will benefit in the long run.
   
   I can still say 'Merry Christmas' when I see people though )

   I send about 12 cards each year. It's a tradition in my family, holiday season wouldn't be the same, if I didn't send them out! I get about the same number of cards in return. I wish people put more thought and time in their greetings though. It seems that everybody just signs their names these days...

      Like you I too enjoy receiving Christmas cards.  I hang them on ribbons down the wall of our lounge.  A few extra well wishes make cards more meaningful.

    None. Christmas has become nothing more then a money making event for the greedy. I will however send out a letter telling of all the Blessings that the Lord has bestowed on us, and His Glory.

    0 as I don't see the point in cards at the end of the day they are getting more and more expensive and it's only a piece of card folded.

    That's a great question! I am sending about 10-15 cards this year. I don't have a big family and I have very few close friends. I have been so caught up in job and school that I have somewhat neglected my social life and that is the reason for the very small number of cards.

       Sounds very meaningful.  I don't think people have more than a few good friends in a lifetime. They are the ones to be close to aren't they?

    Well I prefer sending e-greetings through email rather then mailing cards for few reasons:
    1) Saves time, needn't go and choose cards from the shop, then stamp them, write and verify address and drop it in the mailbox.
    2) Saves money, egreetings are free and easy to send using emails
    3) Reaches in time. I needn't worry about whether or not the card reached in time because my egreeting reaches the next minute I hit send
    
    So I haven't mailed a single card in last 10 years !!!
