I would whip up his favourite dishes and have dinner as a family. I would spend an hour expressing my love and gratitude for his unassuming dedication and timely advices. My father is not an expressive person and I know this means a lot to him.
I remember when I was enlisted into the army, I initially could not adjust to the regimental lifestyle. And that was also when I start to miss my parents and learnt to value them. His timely advices have helped me to overcome my challenges and get me going through my national service. I can still fondly remember how my father encouraged me to be strong and to be sincere in whatever I do, especially in times of adversity. I lived by this principle for whatever I achieve in life.
Have a great father’s day!
