   What are some ideas for a nice little craft item to make for about 100 people for Christmas?
   
   I live in an RV resort where the staff is just great - security workers - the whole lot.  In addition I'd like to make something for some former students I've had who are friends on FB.  I know a card would be fine, but I just feel the need this year to MAKE something - but not food!  Any ideas of maybe some new crafts that would be inexpensive and easy and fast to make?

   I think I have the perfect suggestion, billie.  This should require one visit to a place like "Joanne Fabrics" or "A.C. Moore" , be an easy project and very reasonable in price.   
   Buy some red & green felt, some magic markers, maybe sparkles or tiny beads....   Cut out the material in the form of a small "Santa Boot" (Like a stocking).....sew the sides up and place a name on each boot.  Add sparkles or even sew on some tiny buttons.....anything you want (maybe something you have saved at home.)
   Instead of a card, print up a special Christmas poem greeting.....roll it up like a scroll and tie with a little ribbon & place it in the boot! 
   There you go....a very special, personal Christmas message!
   If that seems like to much work or time consuming.....just do the poem on a scroll of Christmas-like paper.....tie with a ribbon and add a small lollipop to the ribbon...or candy cane.  Easy.

      I really like the idea of the Christmas poem tied up like a little scroll.  What abt this for the family:  put a different verse of a poem  like "Santa Mouse" (with #) in each stocking then have everyone stand up and get in order and read ?

   I hang out with a 'real-make-believe' Santa during the Holidays - we are going on our ninth year; and it is such a HOOT!!
   
   Something that is always a huge hit at parties and/or an easy gift giving  craft is indoor snowball kits. (I live in Seattle where we usually have to go to the mountains to see snow; so they go over really well here.)
   
   It's simple... Get lots of white yarn. You can get 'normal' yarn fairly cheap in bulk; or if you have some money to spend, get some really nice stuff with sparkles or something in it. I've made them out of 'natural' yarns and they LOOK much better; but sometimes they leave little flecks of yarn laying around (which 'can' add to the idea of 'snow falling'; but if you don't want the extra clean-up headache - go for the 'normal' stuff.)
   
   Make 'snowball' pompoms out of it, pompoms are really easy to make. Find the instructions for making them (using something as simple as cardboard or you can buy pompom-makers in craft stores) via a simple search online; or go to Pinterest. Instructions galore!!
   
   We make them fairly thick and maybe 6-8" around so that they are big enough to hold like a 'handful of snow' in your hand.
   
   If you want to be really funny, make a couple 'off yellow' and/or brown-dirt ones to speckle into the mix.
   
   Also, get something cute to put them in - tins or holiday bags or whatever you can find. Put a ribbon around them for present giving. We make different sizes - half a dozen; a dozen, etc. The largest is simply when we fill Santa's huge toy bag with them and he comes in 'fighting'.

      Catherine, This would be a hoot if the staff here at the park in southern California would have a "snow ball" fight!  It would be fun to read a hub on this with some pictures.  Thanks, Catherine, for this very "cool" idea!

   Clothespin dolls are easy and fun to make, and inexpensive. Dress them like elves, Santa, angels, or whatever. You can purchase the clothepins (round slotted ones) at craft stores or Amazon. Search online for "clothespin dolls" and you will find a wealth of pictures on Bing for some great ideas. It really does not take lessons or study to make these adorable dolls, just your imagination. You can also purchase the stands to put the dolls in or tie string around them to hang on a Christmas tree.

      Phyllis, This tweaked a memory in me.  My daughter once made a brown reindeer ornament with two clothespins.  Everyone loves an ornament at the holiday season even if they only hang it in their car.  Another great hub potential. Thanks!

   The door is wide open for options, but maybe a key ring/tab of some sort would meet the need.  They can be made in so many ways--leather, yarn, machine or hand stitched, polymer clay...  You could stitch, paint, or carve 2016 on them for a good "start" to the new year!

      RT, a key ring idea was actually the very first thing that came to my mind.  I like the 2016 idea.  I'll have to check into this.  Again, this idea could be a great hub.  Thanks for adding to this question

   I don't know how old your students are but wine corks and beads make great crafty gifts. (Key chains, flower pot decorations, cork boards, coasters, and etc...). If someone has some small tiles they are not using or sometimes you can pick-up partial boxes at a low price, cement glue or decoupage a picture on top of each tile, let set for 24 -48 hours and then lightly brush a clear coat of something that repels water over the top to protect the picture and eureka, you have homemade coasters. Hint: It's best to use smooth tiles. Pinterest is a great place to search for ideas.  Or just search the internet for ideas, they will all give you pictures of the finished product but what you are doing is even better, striking up conversations with real people and then you can search for the pictures of what we described.   And then you can send us pictures of your finished products.

      Carol, So very cool!  My daughter has made wine-bottle cork coasters with alovely grosgrain ribbon around each.  I like the tile idea.  You made me feel good by saying a conversation like this is useful
