Tunisia doesn't have political problems - it has a totally corrupt, pro Western (specifically French) political system. Tunisia is an example of a country that is governed by a kind of 'colonial rule by proxy' regime. It was once a French protectorate (colony) and when it became indepent the French engineered a situation whereby Tunisia would be governed by a political elite that they themselves had hand picked. Ordinary Tunisians have become aware of this (the world recession is politicizing people all over the place) and have made up their minds that enough is enough.
There are very similar situations developing: for pretty much the same reasons, in Algeria and Egypt. Jordan has also seen demonstrations as have countries across Europe - including here in the UK and in the eastern states of what was once the USSR.
This is a world wide phenomenon. The relative poor are waking up to reality and taking to the streets.
As for going on holiday - do your homework first and don't believe a word Fox News tells you.
