10 Gifts that Teachers REALLY want you to buy them...Teacher Appreciation Day Gift ideas!

Updated on November 2, 2014

Teacher Appreciation Day! Buy something original, exciting and thoughtful as a gift for your teacher

It's all very well buying Teacher's lovely gift, but what do they really need? They get so many gift sets, so many chocolates, but the thing that Teacher's would really appreciate on Teachers Appreciation Day are here on this page for you to choose from.

Teachers deserve nice gifts. Everyone remembers their first teacher. Mine was Mrs Williams - such a lovely lady, the type of person you felt safe with, who challenged you enough to steer you in the right direction, but gave you enough support to give you the confidence you need at a young age.

But how do we thank our teachers? They work crazy hours and do so much good in the classroom, so a little thank you is always appreciated at the end of the year - or even for National Teachers Day.

Check out the range of beautiful Teacher Appreciation Gifts on Amazon.com

They usually receive lovely home-made gifts, or something related to apples ("an apple for the teacher")...but do you know what they would really like? I do! I've been a teacher myself, so I know the twitterings in the staffroom. 4 of my family members are teachers, so I know what they coo about when they bring home adored gifts from their pupils and I currently work with schools, and know what makes them tick.

Here are some ideas...

#1 Gifts for Teachers - Delicious Candle Gifts for Dedicated Teachers

Everyone loves candles, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise!

Yankee candles always go down very well. Not only do they smell amazing, but they look gorgeous and come in so many different flavours and colours. A sure hit would be to get one that is your teacher's favourite colour. Purple is always very popular, so a lavender one is always good.

If your teacher has penchant for something sweet, this candle will be right up their street. The gorgeous chocolatey aroma will fill your child's teachers house, and they'll think of the class every time the candle is lit. The most glorious thing, is that by lighting the candle, no calories are consumed! Winner!

This is a gorgeous idea for Teacher Appreciation Day

I saw this posted on a Christmas Blog, Season of Joy, and just had to share it.

They have the beautiful idea of including a poem explaining what each colour in the jar means...check it out. It's a lovely idea!

#8 Gifts for Teachers - A bit of Greenery for the Classroom

Plants have that calming quality that brings a little serenity into the world.

Help spread this across the classroom too.

Ummm... who wrote this list? I'm a teacher. I have loads of lotions, candles, and jewelry. If I get those gifts, they usually don't make it out of the classroom (except via the trash can).

Ideas: handmade cards, gift cards, dry erase markers, scented markers, pencils, lined paper, erasers in fun shapes, treasure box refills, Lamborghinis.

yes. am looking for something jazzy now

    • Lenskeeper 4 years ago

I did not, but I don't really remember anybody doing that during the time that I went to school. It has become a much more common practice since then.

My son gave his teachers flowers sometimes. It's sometimes difficult to figure out what to give a teacher that won't be the same old standard #1 teacher stuff. You've done a great job with this lens. Thanks!

I always bought something for my teacher at school. I always felt so welcome, and so they created a little family for us at school, so they deserved it.

No, they didn't even deserve a smile...

No. When I was growing up, gifts for the teacher were frowned upon. Weird. My teachers did deserve them, though!

No, I was the teacher! And yes we do deserve it!

You know, one of the best gifts I ever received (as the teacher) was a gift certificate at a spa for a pedicure. I love them and it fit me perfectly. Thanks for the great ideas and spotlighting the very important teachers!
