This funny card is very much in tune with the tradition of April Fool's in Great Britain, where the victim of the prank is often mislead to looks for something non existent - just like for the answer on this question.

Before 16th century most of the Europe celebrated New Year on April 1st.
When Pope Gregory introduced new calendar many people refused to change their habits and still celebrated it as before.
It is a popular belief this is the reason for April Fool's phrase - it was mocking everybody who didn't want to adapt.

April Fool's Day is perfect for some great jokes done through media.
- In 1957 BBC introduced documentary showing spaghetti trees. Hundreds of viewers called or wrote letters to find out if they can grow their own spaghetti trees at home. BBC replied the should put some pasta in a tin with tomato sauce and patiently wait!
- In 1977 The Guardian published pretty detailed tourist guide (seven pages with photos and maps) to island called Sans Serriffe. The non existent island in the Indian Ocean aroused a lot of interest among the readers who tried to book holiday packages in all the major tourist offices.
- 2013 Twitter announced they will improve their service with simple procedure - they will stop using vowels. On this occasion they changed their brand name into Twttr. On the same year Google announced their YouTube Service which was actually made only for competition has enough material to choose the best video and can close now.
