Ezio Auditore da Firenze - Assassin's Creed

Ezio Auditore da Firenze is the main character and focus of the hit video game series Assassin's Creed. Ezio lived in Florence during the Renaissance period and descended from the legendary House of Auditore.

It was only at age seventeen when Ezio became aware of his true destiny as an assassin. He is taught about his heritage and destiny by his uncle, Mario Auditore. From that point, Ezio began training as an assassin and fully embraced his destiny. Throughout the Assassin's Creed games, Ezio Auditore must fulfill certain missions as an assassin in order for certain plotlines to turn out in a favorable manner. His various journeys include uniting "the Codex" and saving the cities of Venice, Rome, and Florence from the Templars.

At seventeen, Ezio Auditore came face to face with danger and loss as his family was captured and imprisoned by guards in Florence. Ezio tried his best to rescue his family, but his father instructed him to follow his assassin destiny and to not worry about their fates. Ezio tried his best to save his family, providing evidence to show that they were innocent. However, his efforts were futile, and he watched as his father and brother were executed by Uberto Alberti.

Ezio exacted revenge on Uberto Alberti for his betrayal and drove a dagger through his heart. In doing so, he became the most wanted man in Italy and the authorities never stopped hunting him. The fact that he cannot draw attention to himself makes each of Ezio's missions even tougher. If he does, he must eliminate anyone who discovers his identity.

The missions Ezio must endure as an assassin are both confusing and challenging. There are secrets that he must discover, clues that he must unearth, and puzzles that he must put together in order to defeat his enemies. Ten years on from his family's execution, Ezio is formally inducted into the order of assassin's. At that moment, his true destiny as a prophet is revealed. He is said to be the one who will lead the assassin's to the vault.

Assassin's Creed II Ezio Renaissance Cape

This cape comes with the look Ezio is famous for, the cape is attached to a leather shoulder pauldron. Great looking Halloween costume accessory if your goal is to look like this character from Assassin's Creed.

What You Need To Make Your Own Ezio Costume

Since Ezio is from Florence, Italy during the time of the Renaissance his costume will need a fancy medieval style shirt, a vest, a hood, a dark pair of pants, an arm guard or bracer, a belt and a pauldron (armor that fits over the shoulder & sometimes the top of the arm), and a cape.

This Assassin's Creed costume is pretty easy to recreate at home and the ease of making it will depend on the amount of detail you want the costume to have. That's completely up to you, it depends on how much time and effort you want to put into your costume.

Ezio's Shirt: If you own a shirt with wide, blousey sleeves it will be just right for your costume. You can dress it up even further using some lace. Sew or glue the lace to the front of the shirt, the cuffs of the sleeves, you can also add some lace to the collar for an interesting look. Here is a picture of a man's Renaissance shirt.

Renaissance Shirt

The Pants: Wear a pair of relaxed fit pants in black or brown, like these.

The Vest Or Doublet: A Doublet is a large vest with cap sleeves. Do you have a vest in your closet? It's probably a vest that's cut tight to the body, the kind that comes from a suit. Ezio's vest is bigger than that. It's more like a tunic, or a shirt without sleeves. You can make your own by cutting the sleeves off a large shirt ... leave a bit of material at the shoulder so you can make a small "cap" sleeve.

Ezio's Hood: This costume hood looks like your basic hood on a sweatshirt but it has a wide brim that looks like an inverted V. Use felt or material cut out in that V pattern and glue or sew it to your hood.

The Pauldron: Ezio's costume has one pauldron, it's on his left shoulder and it looks like his cape is attached to the pauldron. The pauldron is a long and rectangular in shape and can be made from leather look material or even some craft foam. Use a hole punch to make holes on the front right side and the back right side of this shoulder pad. You are going to loop thin ropes, shoe laces or something like that to make the ties that hold the pauldron on. You can see on the Ezio costume picture how the pauldron ties around his chest to the back. Want more detail? Decorate your pauldron with metallic buttons.

The Cape: The cape can be made from a triangular piece of cloth. You can sew or glue in a liner if you like. The cape is attached to the pauldron. Just punch a hole in your pauldron and tie the thinner side of your cape to it, or you can attach it by sewing.

The Leather Sash: If you have a large leather belt it would be perfect. Ezio wears his sash t around one shoulder going to the opposite side of his body. Take a look at the picture to see the exact positioning. You can also use brown craft foam to make your own sash/belt strap easily.

Ezio's Bracer: The bracer is the part of Ezio's costume where he keeps his hidden weapons. It is like a wrist band with a secret pocket. You can make one from craft foam. Cut out a rectangular shaped piece and a smaller piece. The larger piece will fit around your arm. The smaller piece can be glued or sewn onto the larger piece, leaving one side open. That side is the upper part of the piece, this makes a pocket where you can hide a weapon like Ezio.

The Bracer

The Belt: Ezio wears a wide belt and you can make one out of foam or faux leather. You can make a decoration for your belt by cutting a design out of cardboard or foil. If you use cardboard, paint the decoration silver after you cut it out. Glue the decoration onto your belt to achieve that Ezio look.
