Bastille Day Is Celebrated On July 14th

If you ever wondered, the French celebrate their independence day on July 14th (14th Juillet) every year. It is one of my favorite holidays, because I am the only one wishing other a Happy Bastille Day!

Have A Great July 14th!

Bastille Day is actually French National Day, which is celebrated yearly on July 14th to commemorate the bloody storming of the Bastille in 1789. The Bastille was a symbol of oppression and was used as a fortress like prison. The storming of the Bastille culminated in the end of the French Revolution and the move away from monarchy to democracy for France.

Since France was a military and naval power, they had colonies throughout the world, so Bastille Day is truly a global holiday, celebrated on multiple continents each year.
