Xmas Lights Palm Tree Sunset card by ElainePlesser (Zazzle)
Don't settle for ho-hum Christmas cards when you can send beach Christmas cards this year.
For a really special touch, get beach themed postage stamps also from Zazzle. These are real postage that you'll never see in the post office.
Sand Dollar Christmas Card Design
Card available from Zazzle: December Dollar by BarbaraBayerArt
Cards like this inspire me. I want to get out my collection of seashells to decorate my tree this year. I'm sure I have a sand dollar in there too. I can use red yarn to tie the sand dollar onto a branch of my tree.
The other seashells would need to have a hole drilled in them to insert a tie, I guess. Not sure I want to do that. At least I can put the sand dollar on my tree.
Don't you think it would look fabulous!
My Aunt Tells about Her Beach Christmas Plans
For many years, my aunt CJ lived in Seadrift on the Texas coast. Her description of her holiday decorations and her annual ritual on Christmas Day always delighted me.
"My friends outdo themselves every holiday, passing me around for a drink, appetizers, dinner, pie and coffee, etc., to be sure I don't get lonely.
I formulated my own Christmas tradition years ago, taking pumpkin pie and coffee to the beach, and have to fight off my friends to make time to get to the beach on Christmas! Sometimes it's sunny and tranquil and sometimes not. I've sat bundled up in the car on a number of occasions. Still great to watch the birds, and the waves rolling in!"
Every year, I looked forward to CJ's coastal Christmas card arriving in the mail. The ones you see displayed on this page are exactly what I loved getting from her.

Santa probably spends a lot of time at the beach after Christmas. Wouldn't you, if you lived in the North Pole?
It's hard to choose a favorite from this great pack of seasonal greetings. Would it be the melting snowman or the Santa making angel wings in the sand? Maybe it would be the "Merry Christmas" written in the sand on the beach.
The reindeer and Santa in the beach chairs is a delight too. Every card has sand and surf and sunshine so your friends up north will be delightfully jealous of your beach Christmas.
I think it would be fun to frame one of each card and display them on your mantle each year.
Who can resist the reindeer bounding into the waves as Santa prepares to join in! The palm trees with the silhouette of the reindeer and sleigh are delightful too.

Pink Flamingo Christmas Cards - from Amazon
The recipient won't have to guess that this card came from Florida. I like the string of Christmas lights decoration the curved neck of this flamingo. They have such a quirky look, so a pink flamingo is just fun to see.
What a change from the same-old snow scenes on the other cards your friends send and receive.
Tropical Santa and Reindeer Card - from Amazon
I lived in Australia for 3 1/2 years. Because Christmas comes during their summer time, families often spent part of the holiday at the beach.
In Florida, the beach or some outdoor relaxing time are likely to be part of the holiday scene too.
This might be what you do on Christmas day too. How clever, a tree made with sand and decorated with found objects from the beach. I wonder how many hours that would take.
Christmas Tree Drawn in the Sand
Christmas card from Zazzle
My favorite is the 'Christmas Washed Up on Shore' card -- very cleverly done. Getting 'creative' in the sand reminds me when my artistic friend visited us at the beach one year and created a dragon in the sand, instead of a regular 'sand castle'. Artists 'think outside the box', and this Xmas tree and shell ornaments makes for a fantastic design.
I love 'all-things-about-the-sea. My Christmas tree has mostly Sea-themed ornaments I've collected from coast-to-coast! Have a Happy Holiday. (comment by Wednesday_Elf)
Beach Wreath Christmas Cards - Boxed - Available from Amazon
Beach wreaths are great for doors and cards. Use the idea from this design to add seashells to a wreath for your front door.
When your friends receive this lovely card, they will want their own greenery and seashell wreath too. Tell them about the one you made.
Colorful Beach Scene on a Holiday Card
Great Christmas Cards with a Beach Theme on Amazon
There are beach cards of all kinds. It might be nice to stick a little sand in the envelope too.
Everyone needs a smile during the hectic holiday season. This melting snowman card provides that touch of humor.
Melting Snowman Card
Don't you love the humor of this card with the snowman melting away in the tropical sun. He left behind his hat and beach towel on the sand.
The contrast of the traditional winter character (the snowman) with the ever so Florida beach scene is memorable.
I spent the holidays in the Cayman Islands once many moons ago. Christmas at the beach is a dreamy way to spend the holidays!— CrossCreations
Merry Christmas Spelled out in the Sand
Here's Santa, enjoying a break at the beach on this card. After a strenuous night of delivering presents to good little boys and girls all over the world, he deserves a Florida vacation.
In this scene, he traces the letters spelling out Merry Christmas in the sand. A starfish adds a Christmas accent to his message.
I Asked My Friends about Enjoying a Beachy Christmas
I love showing off my coastal life at Christmas

flinnie lm - Alabama USA
Hi I live in Alabama so we don't get much snow at Christmas time, so I would love a Sandy Christmas.
Scarlettohairy - Desert Southwest, U.S.A.
I think they're fun and would be great to receive from anyone who lives near water. The only water here in the desert comes from the tap.
Sara Krentz - I like it WARM year round!
MartieG - Jersey Shore
Live at the shore and love every minute of it! Beautiful beach cards!
Wednesday-Elf - Savannah, Georgia
I've lived near the coast several times over the years and love getting 'beachy' when it comes to Christmas cards. Now I'm back in 'snow country', but hoping to be 'back at the shore' this time next year! :) I do NOT like snow, even at Christmastime -- had enough of that growing up in the NE!
savenlives - I am a sucker for a beach theme, no matter what the weather outside!!
SandyMertens - from Frozen Tundra
Makes me wish I was there. Though I can't show off my coastal life, I would like to celebrate it on the beach.
Ann Hinds - from Southern California
Since we don't have snow and can go to the beach pretty much anytime, I love these cards. The one with the reindeer surfing is my favorite.
mbgphoto - O'Fallon, Missouri, USA
Well, I don't have a coastal life, but I love your selections...particularly the first one with the lighthouse!
Sea Turtle Christmas Beach Scene on a Holiday Card - Boxed cards from Amazon
A pretty scene for a nature lover. Who would think that one day you would be sending a Christmas card featuring a sea turtle wearing a Santa hat. The starry sky, full moon and palm trees complete the beach scene.
